It was Easter Bank Holiday here in the UK, which is a 4-day weekend and normally means plenty of rain and cold weather – perfect for hobbying! I had to work Friday and Monday so didn’t get as much time as I would have otherwise, but I DID manage to get my second tactical squad – ‘Lorenzo’ finished up and photographed:

Really dig em. Simple and clean but evocative. The little details like the bits on the bases make a big difference.

Really nice painting and modelling, the battle damage is spot on!

Those look great! I love how crisp and clean the paintwork is, except for the battle damage, but that's a good thing as damaged areas should look anything but clean! I'd be very proud to be able to paint this good.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

Thank you all for the comments!

Battle damage is something I'm still trying to perfect and want to get better at. I want my models to look like they've seen some action – so weathering, battle damage is appropriate – I just need to perfect the technique...

It's looking pretty good to me - it's not overdone, yet it easily reads as weathering to the eye.

Compliments on your BA and your site as well, well done all around

My only real comments is to be careful getting too much grain from the multiple airbrushing, in some spots it is becoming apparent that the undercoats are rough through the smooth finish. If I may suggest, you can do two things to remedy this without altering your overall routine - 1. at the last white stage, when 100% dry, go over them a a firm toothbrush moistened with water, this can smooth out a bit of the grain relief without interfering with the pattern. 2 - a full Matte finish, relatively thin, as opposed to satin, will also do a lot to eliminate the specular reflections making the graininess visible.

That tone of red though and overall feel are really great, very strong BA.

Nice job on the squad LM! As others have mentioned, the small details in the bases really compliments the models.

@ MajorTom, thanks for the tip – I will definitely try that out next time!
