Hiya grimdark plastic soldier peeps,

I've got a question. Is there any difference between the Predator and Land Raider models, Imperial or Chaos, other than quantity of spikes?

In other words, can I buy a loyalist model, slap some spikes on it from the Chaos Rhino kit, and have a Chaos model?

Thanks!

Yes.

To expand, the Chaos variants I believe come with an extra sprue contain said spikes as well as gargoyle-head-themed muzzle pieces for the guns and a few generic Chaos Icons (though this may replace a sprue that has loyalist symbols), as well as the Chaos transfer sheet as opposed to the Imperial.

Also, spikes are optional. You could easily put down a normal SM vehicle, paint it to match your Chaos warband and Bob's your mother's brother.

Generally, yes.

The Chaos models have some differences in the upgrade sprue: combi-bolters instead of storm bolters, and I believe a combi-flamer is provided. Oh, the havoc launcher is on the Chaos vehicle upgrade sprue as well. As are Chaos-specific upgrades, like the dirge caster.

Yeah, there is a combi-flamer.

Does the Loyalist variant have a combi-melta or plasma? I don't remember if Loyalist vehicles can get those.

I don't think the loyalist version gets one, but then again people barely use the combi weapons on the tanks anyways.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Loyalists only get Stormbolter, the fluff reason being that the Stormbolter is a more modern improvement of the combi-bolter. It stands to reason the heretics would try to counteract this by adding versatility via a combi-weapon
