Yesterday I posted this thread and everyone had some valid criticism. So I decided to actually build one to see how they would look.

Thoughts? I think they look a lot more 'streamlined' than the photoshop version I built, the legs fit a lot more to the body.

Below is yesterday's thread.

So I really want to incorporate stormcast host models into my 40k army, but they're just so big. Too big for power armour, but big enough to pass off as terminator armour imo.
So thinking of doing up some custom Alpha Legion terminators. I'm going to try to make it true scale as well by bumping up the torso height. Below is a preview of how I want it to look like. Any thoughts?

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.

There is a definite risk of them looking top-heavy even more than Termies already do. The best around this while sticking with the Stormcast idea is to use Paladins rather than Liberators as the base model, they've got more heavily armoured legs and wider stances so will spread the 'weight' a bit more evenly and fit the aesthetic better.

My biggest issue wouldn't be so much scale as it would style.

Stormcast have a very sleek look to their armour.
Plenty of smooth rounded pieces.

Cataphractii on the other hand are rigid looking chunks of metal.
No smooth edges etc.

Just seems like 2 very different style of armour to me.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

While the size may be right, the models are completely different in terms of aesthetics. Think you would be doing more work greenstuffing than it ultimately would be worth IMO.

Yeah, I have to agree. It *might* work with Tartaros terminators, but... I dunno. Seems like a lot of work for not a lot of pay-off?
