Subject: What other army to combine with Kharadron Overlords?

I've started putting together 1000 points of Kharadron Overlords since 1000 point games are pretty common common locally. But on the off chance that a 2000 point game comes up, I'd like to be able to play that too. Instead of sinking all my money into sky dorfs, I though maybe I'd build out two 1000 point order armies that way I have a little bit of variety at the 1000 point level. Since the Khardron Overlords were my "if it looks cool, buy it choice", I'm looking to pick my second 1000 points specifically based on what might work best with them as a generic Order army both mechanically and thematically. Any thoughts?

I'd think Fyreslayers would work really well thematically... have the up-close dwarfs clear the way for the shooty dwarfs.
I don't know how well they would pair up rules-wise, because I don't know too much about either faction.
I just think the pairing would look and feel super cool, plus you have the melee and ranged sections covered.

Kharadrons absolutely beg to be backed up by a Celestial Hurricanum.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.
I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games. |

They are a semi-mobile shooting army, yes? I would think that you would either want to capitalize on that or fill in the gaps.
Boost shooting? Throw in a Celestial Hurricanum for the shooting buff, and maybe some Ironweld Arsenal for more strong shooting. More cannon shots might be fun.
Want melee? Fyreslayer Duardin would work well. I would probably go with some Dispossessed Ironbreakers, though they are more like an anvil that has resiliency.

Oops, I forgot to mention that I'm looking for non-dwarf options since the idea it to not only fill out my Kharadron force to 2000 points but also have a separate 1000 point army for some variety.
Looking through GW's current stuff, I think I'm finding that the Overlords are the only order that I really like(okay, I do like "normal" Dwarfs, but I already that itch scratched with my Kings of War Dwarf army).
I might just go with the Stormcast eternals since there is a battalion that is a Kharadon/Stormcast combo force, and if I wanted to expand the two armies to 2000 points each somewhere down the road, the Stormcast are at least and easy army to do it.

I mean you COULD go full on nautical and include the Ironwield Arsenal and Free Company. The old empire models had a victorian steampunk look as well... the Ironweild have great artillery and the Free Company has things like large blocks of cheap troops and a better taste in style compared to the Stormcasts... yeah I went there.
