I don't really care for the GW Jokaero model. It's cute, but doesn't strike me as ready for the life in the 41st century. And to top it off, it's not WYSIWYG. The GW model has what? A magic finger and an oversized paw? Neither of those equal lascannon, heavy flamer, or multi-melta. So, the path to a conversion was started.

To start with I got an Axis Gorilla Squad from Dust Tactics. These monkeys look ready to face down just about anything. I used some Necron bits to save a least a little feel of the backpack and armbands from GW model, then added the appropriate weapons.

What do you think?

Nice model but I would like to point out that those orangutans don't actually carry weapons around. That little magical finger makes a digital version of that weapon.

I thought the weapon was the digit itself--like it shot things from the fingers, not a digital version. But I could be wrong.

Well, digital version in the sense that it fits onto a digit - ie, a finger. Basically, Jokaero are a (or the?) source of digital weapons. The ones that usually just give a reroll for certain models. The Jokaero version is way more powerful, which is why it counts as the weapons they have access to.

That said, cool conversion.

Is it not more of a digital version the way green lanterns ring works?

Yeah I could totally see this working really nicely if the Jokaero was painted in it's orange fur and the weapons were all painted like glowing blue holograms. Contrast nicely and would look really cool. Awesome conversion!

I like it. I'll have to give it a shot and see what I can do with it.

Awesome. Post up a pic when you do it! I'd be keen to see how it turns out

Digital weapons look like rings. They fit on the wearer's digits. Yours look a little excessive to me...

Thought some of you might like the weaponless version.

Indeed, they make weapons out of seeming nothing.

Seems much better without the weapons.

Thing that didn't really work for me with your first try is that gorillas use their knuckles to walk, and the guns on his wrists make that impossible.
