Hey all, I just thought I'd share this with you guys. Tre makes some fantastic models in a more true-scale style. His warbands of the Cold North series are perfect for Frostgrave warbands and pretty reasonably priced considering the quality. This warband is focused around the Aenglish - who draw a lot of influence from the dark age/ medieval British Isles. I've back several of his Kickstarters and he is very reliable, quick, and great with communication. The campaign is half funded at the time of initial posting (it has been live for a bit over four hours at this point) with eight days to go. He has some pretty awesome stretch goals planned, including modular foot knights!

Here are some of the minis:

Update:

The Kickstarter is funded and over half way to the first stretch goal these awesome foot knights (they having semi modular weapon options, modular heads, and Tre is planning on making another head sprue with closed/visored helmets.

Will these be in metal?

Tre is a talented sculptor and has a real feel for poses and proportions. I love his Bones gnolls and orcs, especially. I wish him a ton of success.

Hey Bob,

Good question on the metal part. I just assumed yes, because Tre's last few kickstarters have been in metal (and his general releases), but I asked on the comments page to clarify. I hope so, because I'm not a huge resin fan (especially in true scale), but I imagine the answer will be yes.

Tre Manor is a fantastic sculptor, but he kind of repeats himself too much. He's done a number of "dudes in buffcoats" before, and they tend to all be in his signature wide legged stance. Same with "beefy barechested barbarian dudes with big girdle/greaves". I just wish he'd branch out a bit more in terms of subject matter (and pose).

Good looking figures. going to look great alongside the Frostgrave stuff.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Those are very nice figures. I like his style.

Love Tre's stuff. Sadly his minis simply don't scale with the majority of what I own. Probably a blessing or I'd own everything he makes. The classic 25mm scale really keeps me away.

I own I'd say 95% of the sculpts he did for Reaper (because their scale is inline with most other lines I use).

Every time I see his new KS I'm sad.

I can understand that. I've always collected his RBG stuff, but Frostgrave was a great excuse to get some warbands together from his line. It allowed me to field all my humans from his line, and since all the NPCs are pretty much monsters of one vein or another, they were easy to pull from the rest of the collection (who cares if a giant spider is slightly more giant, etc.).

I really do wish more sculptors sculpted in the same scale he did though, I much prefer it to heroic scale most of the time, and unfortunately there are a lot of gaps in modernly sculpted classic 25mm fantasy.

Just a heads up, Tre is running a giveaway for the Wizard and her Apprentice from the Kickstarter over on his Facebook Page. You just need to comment and tag two people to have a chance to get this nice pair.

Have there ever been any recent updates on his "not-so-secret" project? Like 2 years or so ago I was super excited about that - and it seems to have fallen by the wayside.

He has mentioned it from time to time on his Facebook, and has occasionally mentioned working on it, but I'm not sure it's current status. I know he has mentioned he wanted it to be a game, and that he has had trouble coming up with mini rules he is happy with. I know he mentioned this Kickstarter is short because of another large one he wants to do later this month, but I'm unsure what that will entail. I'm also very excited for the not so secret project, so I'd love to see more.

The first stretch goal, the foot knights are now unlocked. Tre is looking to show off their closed helm heads either later today or tomorrow.

Up next we have Gwendolyn of Guilling.

Lovely figures as always from tre. Too bad a $55 pledge would end up costing me nearly $100 after shipping and 25% import tax

I think you may have misunderstood. I believe Tre meant he was running a short campaign to get out of the way of another companies big kickstarter this month, not that he was running another one himself.

Many thanks Sabotage for all fo your help!

Scale........well RBG scale is not true 25. It is true 35. all of my male human figures are built on armatures that stand 35 mm tall from the bottom of the feet to the top of the head. It is actually a pretty good match for Zombicide Black Plague figures.

Dameon is right I think I was misunderstood that i would be running a largr KS at the end of the month. I figured it would be wise to get out of the way of Zombicide; Green Tide. It would appear that my concern was well founded.

and yeh the added cost of postage is a hard pill to swallow but a more efficient fulfillment ( just made easier cause I wont be billing for postage or trying to pre package rewards to be shipped to a third party for fulfillment ) just means I get these into the store faster and with less stress.

The SDSP IS still kicking. I think I have have finally worked ou the core system and devised a slightly less ambitious ( and thus more achievable ) product launch offering. I do not knwo i fthis will be the very next KS or if it will be the KS after the next one. It sort of depends on store sales and my financial needs between here and there. The SDSP wont be produced in metal so that means a higher initial investment, longer lead to production, and MUCH more need for marketing and prep.

It IS coming though. i may need to expand my elves or dwarves between hither and yon though.

Absolutely Tre, I couldn't let these fine folks miss out on your excellent Aenglish minis!

I would love the SDSP next, but then again I would be just as happy with Elves and Dwarves, as I love yours and those are two noticeable holes in my fantasy minis collection.
