Not sure where to post this so if this is wrong place I apologize. I did not see anything that fit it so it was here of off topic area. I was not able to find anything doing search etc. I also did not find what I am looking for on google searches lol.

I am moving and will likely be getting a small two bedroom apartment in which I would like both to have beds in them for my boys, however I want to use the space in the non master bedroom to be a wargaming area as well as my boys will be off and on staying in the room.

I have a temperpedic bed that is a replacement for the first one I got. It will be in second room/boys room/guest room/game room.

My plan is to have a light weight portable game top or table to be able to put on top of the bed (bed becomes table legs and support) for the table top to sit on. table top I think would be a lightweight frame of some sort with a 2 inch insulated foam board inside that maybe could be broken down further for storage sake. On top I would use FAT mats and or Cigar Battlemats.

I don't want to damage the bed or have it be unstable where minis fall off if someone sits on bed or something where the board is not sitting (a thing that could happen). What is your guys thoughts? Ideas? has anyone done something similar and what not?

Thanks guys. My other ideas mean that the second bed would not be able to be in the room and or no gaming area... which sucks cause my old house I had a game room but now I have to make things work so to speak .

I used a folding Card Table with a 4x4 Plywood table, it could slide under the bed.

I think the mattress wouldnt be sturdy enough and you'd need legs that would go from the table top to the floor.

Ikea has some good space saving tables that can be used and you can put your play top on top of.

You ever thought of a camping table, I used to use one in the garden when it was sunny it folds down to a brief case size.

Open the table and place a 6x4 ft ply wood on top of it and over the top of that I would stretch a huge piece of green felt over(looked kind of like a pool table) then add your Terrain peices.
You don't need to use felt there's some nice lookin gaming mates out there now they feel like a mouse Matt.

That's the table.

That's the mat

The ply wood or chip board can be bought any where if it's not the right size buy larger and simply cut it down I'd buy it at least 1" thick 2" if you have the cash I started with 1/2" and it started to warp it actually got so bad we could not deploy on the corners of the table so I upgraded to2"

All in all I would not recommend playing on a bed unless you live in an apartment in the middle of the city.
Hope this helps.
