I've had this idea for a chaos lord forever.

I finally got the arms magnetised and I'm waiting on the greenstuff to harden to put the backpack on behind the wings.

The hands look to big for the model how have you attached the wings?

hands are a lightning claw from the chaos termie lord kit and the power fist is from the standard chaos marine box, so it would be really odd if at least the power fist looked off to scale. wings are held by green stuff. I just got the base magnetized so I can switch it between a standard base and a Disc of Tzeentch.

After pointing out the size issue I compared it to a spare raptor lightning claw I had and replaced it with that. Here is a picture of it with the power fist in a different pose, the arm switched, and mounted on the top of the disc.

The second pose is definitely better
I would probably rotate the head a bit his left so that he looks in the direction he is striking with the claw.

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

I have that exact chaos metal lord. I'd recommend also thinking about using possessed arms for that as well. It would go well with the mutated sorcerer vibe with the wings and helmet.

Also for taking better pictures, I recommend you follow my tips and tricks in the signature below

@Shadox, I would like to turn the head a bit but the pewter model has a super thin head slot that I had to trim the head back to even set it in straight. I think I'll have to angle the lightning claw to line up with the eyes instead of vice versa

@Novelist47, Are you thinking something along the lines of possed set of arms under the main or replacements for the main. If the second, where would you cut off the pauldrons on the pewter model since it's such a static prebuilt pose?

I worked on magnetizing weapon options today. I kept the terminator lightning claw around to use as the "black hand" black legion artifact and magnetised a standard base and the bottom of the Disc of Tzeentch. Next step is to cure some green stuff on the right foot to let it stand more level on average as it's default stance has his right foot on his toes. Also I'm wanting opinions, do you think a full backpack with a poll would look better or a smaller "spine" style backpack, like the one that came with Kranon in Dark Vengeance?

I know it's been a while, but I've got the initial paint job done. I still need to do whatever fine details and the Disc of Tzeentch.

Looking good, i think the disc is a great addition as well.

I forgot I never actually finished the base. I've held off setting up the disc as I heard it's really non viable at the moment. Sad to hear, I would love to power fist a plane.

*Sorry being a necro with it. I figured it was better than creating a new thread.

That is super cool!
I have many copies of that Lord - it's a great model - so I might do something similar to one of them!

I you would like to know the parts involved in that kit. The head is from a Sargent choice from the Standard Chaos Marine Box. The Claw and Fist came from a Chaos Terminator Lord box. The wings are Dark Eldar Scourge wings You're familiar with the lord himself pewter model already. As for other weaponry, I did bother magnetizing the whole thing along with his feet/ base. Fair warning if you do that, you'll need to add a bit of greenstuff to his back foot to bring his center of balance a bit forward. If I ever bother switching him around, I hope he'll look as cool with a plasma pistol and power sword/ axe I magnetized as well.

I grabbed a Disc of Tzeentch from an Ahriman box, but it's on hold while I work on my Dark Angels. I do think though that a Chaos Lord hitting a plane with a Powerfist is about the most 40k mental image I can imagine. It's honestly kind of silly, through the whole ordeal and a bit of store credit I had lieing around I ended up buying Ahriman, Exalted Sorcerors, and Rubric Marines. With The Dark Imperium box set I got a little dab of Nurgle stuff as well, so I have so fun mercenaries to mix into my Black Legion army. My big quest is I got my hand on a bunch of chosen and cultists from Dark Vengeance and kitbashing the chosen to be a bit better is loadout with features mixed around so they aren't quite as copy paste. I may do that with the cultists, but those models are so stupid expensive now that I would hate to lose 5-10 per twenty to kitbashing when they cost 60 odd dollars on ebay for sprues of twenty.
