I've been holding my breath for this. Footslogging admech makes panda sad. You think GW may toss in some 30k options? Arvus lighter? Macrocarid? Armored conveyor? Anything?

I would think it more likely that they get rules allowing for forward/off-sides deployment.

Infiltrate? Scout? Outflank? Technically skitarii already have limited use of that.

I would hope so - some more integration with the excellent FW Ad Mech designs is sorely needed.

Sisters need plastic more though.

But they will both likely to have to wait for yet more Marine models

Hope so.

I have several Chimeras that are built with the express purpose of transporting my Vangaurd. But those where built and fielded before the whole "Allies can't start in each others transports" thing was established.

So something that would let me do that off the bat would be lovly. But I have my douts it will occur any time soon.

There a good variety of Ad Mech transports described in the fluff, both similar to those used by other Imperial forces and their own unique designs.

Yeah, you would think the faction that manufacturers transports would have at least one stinking transport...

I'd like to see an admech transport, my ideal would be a open topped walker, one that sort of gives almost a "archers on a elephant" vibe.

At my desk

In the novel Skitarius a group of Infiltrators are described as having 'arrived by Onager Dunecrawler', suggesting that perhaps there are transport variations (Or maybe they just clung to the sides, who knows?).

I'm actually not too sad about Skitarii not having transports, as for all of the disadvantages presented by it they are good at marching up the table. But that being said I wouldn't turn my nose up at one if there is one to be had at any point in the future.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

If they do it won't be for a little while. They will probably be able to use other imperial transports until then.

that'd be an intreasting idea too, rather then dedicated transports, a squad of Skitarri being able to just cling to a tank (kinda like clan elementals riding omnimechs in Battletech), perhaps with shots hitting the tank killing infantry instead. in short the infantry providing a cover for the tank instead of vice versa, which would be actually fairly apt for the admech.

That's exactly what I would have done. The 40K line if the Adeptus Mechanicus has a retro look that could benefit from an oriental touch.

I cold see them being able to get a hold of some transports with the changes to the game. I mean a whooole bunch of stuff is going to have Keyword: Imperium on it, and if hey can't jump inside of those transports I'd be surprised.

That said, the transports article comes out tomorrow, I have plenty of time to end up surprised.

Nope. You're going to have to wait until FW finally releases IA14 and gives you the Laser Train of Doom.

Transports are not really their theme however. Aren't they all about that "walking around just like the pilgrims used to" thing?

which was something tossed in mostly to justify the lack of transports. still, we're not proposing getting ridda it entirely, any transport would for that reason have to be a WALKER.

After 7th and it's Allied transports issues, it's likely admech won't be able to use chimeras, drop pods or rhinos.

I hope not. The whole shtick of Skitari is "rows of mechanical men, marching forward in unison like clockwork." They're army ants.

except they cost a little too much to make huge clockwork-men armies because of their really nice weaponry.

That said, I don't mind them being without transports, as I imagine they have a lot of transports, but they take those only for the long trek, and dismount far ahead of the coming battle.

Varies in the fluff - some are more beastial packs of cyborgs - as depicted in Titanicus.

The organization of Ad Mech and Skitarri vary from planet to planet and even Magos to Magos. Some will have vehicles, some will walk and some will chase you like a pack of rabid dogs.

Predated their release by decades I thought, but it's true they do need some transports; mulilegged walking ones though.

In Skitarius they have huge drop ships. Containers with wings... maybe like...

I mean, we're still thinking in terms of 7th edition. We don't necessarily know if transports are still going to be essential. They did literally say that footdar would be possible in 8th (obviously taken with a grain of salt, but still).

But I gotta ask, if transports are such an essential part of your playstyle, then why did you pick skitarii in the first place? People saw that they didn't have transports, still bought them and played them anyways, but whined that they don't have transports? Its like shooting yourself in the foot and complaining that it hurts. GW never said that they would get transports in the future either.

"People say on their first meeting a Man and an Ork exchanged a long, hard look, didn't care much for what they saw, and shot each other dead."

They still have tons of them in the books. GW just didnĀ“t care at all.
