After years of waiting for "Squats" to come back around and having an itch for space dwarves. The recent release of Kharadron Overlords for AoS has given me renewed interest and some amazing ideas for conversions. But I'm at a loss as to which army I should actually use as a count as race to model them under. My thoughts initially are Cult Mechanicus as the servitors seem a natural fit. But I'm looking for more ideas. Currently model wise I'm thinking a fusion of Admech-Tau-Dwarf(Overlords).

Any ideas of what would probably be a good fit for Demiurg?
-High Toughness
-Low Movement
-Great shooting, Good melee.
-Also, importantly model size in comparison.

I'am thinking about this myself and i'am considering using them for Cult mechanicus and Skitari. I want a complete army and not an tau ally.

I think the regular Demiurg infantry could count as skitari rangers or vanguard. Lots of weapon options and really gives you opportunity to show that Demiurg got better technology.
Toughness 3 is fine because they're rather small models and maybe the get/keep feel no pain to make them sturdy dwarfs. To add some ion cannon rifles I would pick something from 'Puppetswar' or 'Anvil Industries' miniatures/bits.

I want to go for the 'miners' theme and let them use machines with drills, breachers and stuff. I think with the upcoming 40k 8th edition, the army needs some good counter assault units and I want to include a bunch of mining machines to fill that part. Maybe use a bunch of cool walkers/robots with drills and use them as kastelan robots or whatever.

Thinking about something like this:

I,am waiting for 8th edition to drop and then make up my mind.

. I think a Kastelan Robot with a drill for one hand, and some minor tweaks here and there.

I've also considered the route of using them as a count as force for SM. Bulky mining bots could easily be Dreadnoughts. The Arkanauts could be scouts, they're pretty similar in size. With the endrinriggers/skywardens being jump troops. The gunhauler could easily be a landspeeder with the aether "baloon" removed. A Ironclad or a Frigate could easily be a Storm Talon/raven gunship as well. With the Grundstok thunderers being an excellent choice for devastators. I just don't want to specifically make the army and just "port" it to 40k stating it's a 40k SM count as faction I want some conversions that give it the 40k feel.

I've been waiting on 8th to drop to make my mind up as well, It's got me in this weird lingo not wanting to pull any triggers but thinking of a thousand ways to do it. Also kit bashing my Overlords and Admech might be a tad expensive.
