As everyone is currently making new lists, or has already done it, I tried it too.
And I have been seriously surprised by my "standard" Gladius army list costing 25% more (from 2000 to 2519).
I have been especially shocked by my terminator squad (6, 5 powerfists, 1 power sword, 5 stormbolters and 1 assault canon) costing 309 pts !
So, what about you ? And does my costing seem propper to you ?

Any idea why a fuckin' drop pod cost more than a hundred points now, by the way ?

On moon miranda.

Most armies are going to be dealing with paying a lot more points this edition, that just seems to be the general trend of things.

That said, dont expect anyone to be too terribly sad about armies that got gobs of free stuff that have to actually pay for it now.

Drop pods were definitely undercosted before, painfulky so, especially when they were free however, I have no idea what they do now so cant comment on their current costing.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

My lists have gone from slightly increased (foot-slogging Chaos) to much increased (mechanized Dark Angels). I'm waiting for an app before I figure out how my Guard translates over.

Drop pods are a force multiplier, so you're not paying so much for the pod itself as for the ability to place a tooled-out HQ and bodyguard anywhere on the table and most likely get into assault without taking fire.

I'll need to get some games under my belt before I can determine how accurate the costing is.

Up and down.... gaurd infantry are cheaper (roughly 20%) but vehicals are more costly(10-20% up). My nids are cheaper over all.

It seems that infantry are cheaper all over in most cases and armour is more expencive.

Increased by a HUGE margin. All my ork vehicles are now roughly x2 the point cost.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Not sure about inq. since a lot of expensive upgrades that I used to take are now just gone from the game.

Depends on which, but overall decreased because I never got sucked up into the maelstrom that was the parking lot of 5th edition and the giant models of 6th-7th edition, so all of my units were infantry.

Especially my nids.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Eldar are up almost everywhere (stock Wraithknight loads are 408/487/540 (Wraithcannons, sword, Suncannon), which they should have been from the beginning...), but there are enough buffs to things that really weren't worthwhile before (Wraithblades are 3W/2A now instead of 1W/1A, Warlocks have multiple Attacks, Witchblades do multiple wounds...) that I'm not really bothered.

GK are close to the same and I'm still deciding whether to be bothered about it; some of the issues I had with them (expensive kickass melee weapons on 1A models, psykers with useless powers) are still present but the Purifier army is back, charging from transports is in, and general ranged usefulness is massively improved, so I may be able to make them work anyway.

Most of the wild swings in cost come on melee units (where charge-out-of-transports is a massive thing) and vehicles (that got vastly tougher out of the deal), the only thing that's really bothering me at present is Dire Avengers. I get that since they now wound anything on 6s GW wanted to control the potential for just throwing mass quantities of them at hard targets and getting -3AP on 6s to pulp giant things (like how Misfortune and Skitarii Vanguard could delete Primarchs, only with superheavies too), but considering the other 'Rending' or good-AP-infantry units they're still way too expensive. If you actually wanted to shenanigans up the Rending spam you'd take Guardians that are less than half the price and do about the same job.
