I think its incredibly funny and cute how a Great unclean one, historically one of the toughest
creatures in 40k, has less wounds then a flying chicken.

I guess this is because of the old model, which is tiny, seeing as a keeper of secrets also has 12.

When the faction books are released I hope all 4 greater demons wont have the same statline with just different special rules
to differentiate them.

Kinda funny that the greater demon sculpts have become so ancient that it affects their friggen stat line.

As a Grey knights player I've been eagerly watching the Daemon leaks while enjoying a glass of my own tears as my army is nerf'd. Hopefully you guys don't get shafted too badly; I have too many good friends that run greater daemons and I've always loved the fun dynamic empyrean armies bring to the game.

I saw with eyes then young, and this is my testament.

Many models have less than 10 wounds on purpose so they can't be targeted directly if their supporting units are nearer to the enemy.

So while it might be less wounds... your opponent will have to kill the cultists (or whatever) completely before the daemon can even be targeted.

And Grey Knights are pretty much done as a standalone army. They simply don't have the tools to compete on the board.

Kairos got the short end of the stick by not having Ephermal form like every other Tzeentch unit, only having a 5++ as a result.

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.

I have a problem.

Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

Blame the Deathwatch.
When those came out GW seems to have decided Harlies, Inquisition and Kroot were decidedly supplement forces.

Daemons suffered heavily in the summoning department.
Mortal Wounds aren't going to be fun for them either.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

Just curious what was some damaging to them?

Those models really do need an update, they are by far some of the ugliest models in 40k

They will receive better rules when they receive a better model, thats a given.

So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Since they are in need of an update. GW has no reason to push the old models with good rules. That said the Keeper better in that it will finally make combat with its 12" move. Compare the GUO with Glottkin in AOS and note the differences.

Yeah several people have been overlooking the you cant target characters that have under 10wnds unless they are the closest (or you have sniper)

Not every new model is better.

Yeah, sorry, I wanted to say that.

If you want to be all pedantic about it... GW will give them rules GW think are better when they receive a model GW thinks is better.

We've seen a lot of rules downgrades for new models over the years, especially in Chaos.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

Probably because both the GUO & KoS have more than 9 wounds. (indeed they both have 12).
It's not so much ignoring it, and more that it's a non-factor.

Fully agreed. I hope that upcoming Mortarion has a hidden new plastic GUO somewhere in his pocket.

your mind

Rules leaks show a bunch of daemon types in a table... My assumption is that new models will be released that may perform much better.

I guess, you guys hadn't looked at AoS while waiting for stuff to come out for 40k. In that system the GUO has 10 wounds and the LOC has 14 wounds.

So, when 40k demons came out the GUO has T7 with W12 vs the LOC with T7 with W16.

This seems to be in line with what they already have shown. And the reason for W12 instead of W10 was to keep the GUO from hiding amongst some Cultists.
