Hello. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum to post in. Honestly, I am not on forums enough to know the ins and outs. (Too much inspiration gets me depressed that I can't work on my mini's enough.)

Anyway, I am building a park terrain set and here are two of my finished pieces.

The statue build Page: http://www.gentlemanmachinist.com/?p=166

Shrine Build Page: http://www.gentlemanmachinist.com/?p=276

I will add more to this thread as time goes on. Hopefully.

I like the statue. The second piece is interesting, but I'm not sold on the greenery distribution..

Yeah, you're right. I think the stone base (the mdf and Merlin's magic blocks) were not coming together right, giving it a neglected look. I added the greenery to make it look abandoned.

Normally I try to make terrain that looks "functional" and we'll kept.

For a more abandoned look, perhaps some additional foliage and rusting/weathering on the shrine would help.

Some etched brass vines wrapped round parts of the shrine would really bring home the "reclaimed by nature" look you are going for.

Hasslefree Miniatures is one of many that offers some interesting etched brass flora options.

I think it's just that one big green streak going across half the piece that just feels too much? I dunno, just guessing, but maybe either toning that down or adding more greenery elsewhere to balance it out might look more natural? Like DarkTraveler says, variety of greenery could help too.

Looks promising! Love the statue.

I saw with eyes then young, and this is my testament.

The second piece looks like a old coffee table, love the first one though.

That is some nice stuff. I'll try to remember it.

Also project update: I took it to work to show my boss and the wind blew, blasting away more of the green flocking. So it was likely I didn't shake it enough.
