On the GW website, one of the preorder items are "Command Dice". However, only 14 of the 20 dice are used for tracking Command Points. The other 6 are the top two rows of icons in this picture:
The text states that they are used for the following:
6 of the dice are used to show a variety of combat statuses as outlined in the Warhammer 40,000 rules, making it easy to keep track of where in the phases of the game you are.
Does anyone know what these represent?

2- Deep Strike
3- Fall Back
4- Advance
5- Go to Ground
6- Charge
There was a little poster at one of the events with the description.

So going to ground is still a thing in 8th? Good to know.

Haven't seen anything in the rules regarding GtG or pinning. Pinning could just become a bespoke weapon rule later on, but the GtG thing is odd.
I wonder if it just means the unit is in cover. Not sure why you'd need a marker for that though.

They're pretty much the same as the plastic icons that have been around forever in starter boxes except in dice from.

Thanks guys, that's very helpful!
On that Reddit link from JohnU, someone commented this:
Intrigued to see how pinning and going to ground happens. The fact they're on these dice implies they'll be fairly common, but I've not seen anything that causes either yet...
That's my confusion, too... I didn't see them in the core rules leaks, and for them to be common enough to be on the dice, you'd think they'd be there? I didn't see any Universal Special Rules ( USRs) in fact...
So, still confused about that

USR's are gone, my friend. Now there are specific rules (do we need to call them bespoke? That's silly, you hipsters) on the datasheets.

I'm not sure if I hate the word 'bespoke' or if I want to say it as much as possible.

Also now and again you have the core rules saying "units with keyword X."
You could do a USR summary where you took all the consistent-function rules on peoples' datasheets (melta...poisoned...vehicle squadron...hard to hit/airborne/crash and burn...explodes...) and printed them in one place, but apparently that would be redundant since they're on the datasheets now. And there are a whole lot fewer than there were in 7th. Might even be fewer than there were in 4th, but I might have to do an actual count to be sure. It might actually have a reason for being. If you wanted to delete "bespoke" you'd have to replace it with something like "dedicated" (which means too many things already, and sort of carries connotations of uniqueness in a way "bespoke" doesn't), or "attached" (which is too physical and sounds more of an afterthought than something specifically and intentionally stuck onto the datasheet).
Or you could just delete it entirely, at least in this context. "Units now have bespoke special rules printed on their datasheet" doesn't really give more information than "units now have special rules printed on their datasheet", and it just sounds like you're trying to sell Warhammer door-to-door.

Seems to be a Cities of Death thing for a unit in cover that doesn't move. They "dig in" and gain an extra +1 to their cover save. Automatically Appended Next Post: Anyone see anything in the rules that does anything like Pinning? I can't find that. Unless it's still around for Shadow Wars.

I'd say it's the following for sure:
2 - Arrived from Reserves this turn.
3 - Fell Back
4 - Advanced
6 - Charged
That just leaves 1 and 5. I'd guess the following:
1 - Destroyed - EDIT: Got it, this means the unit used a Bomb. Some units, like Deffkoptaz, carry bombs.
5 - In Cover/Obscured
Then, the 1-6 with the skulls is obviously how many models you lost from that unit this turn.

It could be the "this unit has to take a morale test at the end of the turn" reminder icon?

No, that's the skulls underneath showing how many models you lost this turn, which is the reminder to roll morale. Automatically Appended Next Post: Got! #1 is dropped a bomb! Some flying units, like Deff Koptas, carry bombs!

Not sure what the lead time is for making dice vs. printing books but it's possible the rules were changed late and they already had a boatload of these dice made up.

Yarium, what the symbols are was already answered above at the link JohnU posted, see here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/comments/6e4ai3/the_command_dice_and_combat_gauge/
The question is just that "Pinning" isn't in the rules anyone's seen anywhere - so is it really just on the datasheets? And if so, is it common enough to warrant putting on the dice? Just seems a bit odd, but maybe that's all it is!
(And the skulls are for tracking Command Points, just FYI!)

That'd be a good use for it. The official word at Warhammerfest was "Pinned" though.
