Hello all, I've currently pre-ordered Dark Imperium with the hopes of painting it up and using it to learn 8th edition to finally start playing with my hordes of plastic, (and try to get my housemates excited to learn/ play with me) and I'm torn. On the one hand, as a Crimson Fisty, I'm beyond overjoyed to find that we weren't insta-gibbed in the new fluff, and actually have Primaris Support coming officially , but on the other hand, I kinda want to try something different. Any suggestions for chapter for the Primaris marines that will have lots of heraldry (like the UM painting primer, the helmet variants, knee variants, etc etc)? I was considering maybe Storm Wardens, something like the Soul Drinkers, or maybe something green , as I plan on painting the Nurgle side with non-green as the armor color, like a white/bone, perhaps. Trying to shake up both forces from the normal painting scheme, but still pack in enough details to really get people interested in learning the game with me, and/or teaching me to play using my own models Thanks for the advice! Your home-brew primaris (or not) chapters are welcome, I won't steal anything, but may ask permission to modify some stuff with your schemes as guideline

Blood Ravens perhaps?

They are an interesting chapter, I'll definitely consider them

Perhaps ill revive the Great Marine Swap with a shiny new twist, paint up primaris in chosen colors for swapped primaris in colors chosen by the painter, do you think that would catch on?

That could certainly be fun!

So, Im thinking I might actually go with the Blood Ravens... my squads might have to be primaris marines made from the purged legions and traitor legions, without any knowledge of the fact. Found with the rest of their chapters' might destroyed in a conflict Cawl has no record of... that fit their fluff enough

I had never owned a Dawn of War game, but have played the skirmish mode many times, so I didn't really consider them, but after reading some fluff and remembering all the in game items from DoW2 that were like "this was from a super special thing with the Blood Angels. The BA have no record of this" I fell in love. Theyre like my ork freebootas im building

That looks pretty sweet. I tried a similar green scheme for a homebrew chapter, but I think im going to change their heraldry.
. Got enough green to paint with the DG and my Orks

Drakheart - you going to use some German feldgrau spraypaint? Looks like it would match.

Do you guys think there would be Soul Drinkers primaris or nah?

I never read the last book of the series but I heard its grim

Looks like a really good homebrew scheme; very classically militaristic.
