I was browsing the books and thought how these units probably received the biggest boost from the combi weapon changes.

Keep in mind, this is fluffy/ not minmaxing and using power for estimates due to looking at the index.

Let's say a squad of 10 chosen. You give 6 combi plasma,2 combi plasma melta, 1 with a power fist, and a champion with a power sword and plasma for fluffy melee champion. (you could drop to one and outfit how you like and take an icon if you like)

Considering that combi weapons are now 2 weapon profiles at the same time:
6 plasma shots and 8 bolter shots at range 24" with an extra attack on sixes.
(The big jump with rapid fire) 12 Plasma shots, 16 bolters, 2 melta with rerolling 6 for attacks for an average of 6 extra attacks.

That's an increase of what would be popping your combis once per turn without the double profile is last edition to being able to pump this out every turn.
This is not even mentioning they have the highest leadership of any infantry choice which might balance out the body count a little bit.

I wouldn't want to run more than one due to the lack of wounds in the squad, but that seems like a beastly number of high damage and high value shots without being ungodly *heh* overcosted.

Vs a Generic Chaos Squad of equivalent power, about 20, you can fit them in a Rhino.

Man, sometimes I wish that chaos marines still had Apothecaries.

I might enjoy throwing mine in a list as a fluffy squad leading some chaos marines in the charge, thoughts?

I'm confused as to where you're getting the large number of combi-weapons. Let's break it down:

4 Chosen can take Combi-Weapons.
1 additional Chosen can take a Special Weapon
The Champion can then take something from the Champion Equipment list, the only shooting options being a bolt pistol and a plasma pistol

This would result in a squad with:
4x Combi-Plasma
1x Plasmagun (or Meltagun)
1x Plasma Pistol

Ah, you caught my error. I got myself thinking combi for all except the aspiring champion by not thinking about the number of specials begin static compared to unit size.

Even if it's not as crazy as I was thinking, you double 5 man squads and loaded both up in a rhino together all the same with squads being able to share vehicles.

Forcing double squads for that many weapons makes the power scale seem more on par with others.

You would need to take care to mark each squad uniquely somehow for coherency's sake though.

@Franarok,

Give me that and some new standard chaos marines. The molds from Dark vengeance might be the best looking undivided models they've ever made but a little odd looking paired with the older standard chaos marine models. The helmets seem to be slightly different scaled and the concept behind the body mutations seem a bit different. I'm honestly surprised they never at least released those two kits. The box made the dark angels and chaos marines as the "newbie friendly" armies from the outside.

I love the dark vengeance chosen; the look of them is what finally got me to give in and start up a black legion army along my dark angels. I like cultists troops, but I like them better as a flavor supplement to the core undivided marines.

I'm the same with my Dark Angels with a Large Greenwing collection (Robes Everywhere!) and dashing Deathwing and Ravenwing in on the side.

The new detachment rules let me throw my 5th Company Angels down with a squad or two of raven and death in. Otherwise I feel like I'm being super inefficient needing a second HQ with no detachment bonus.

*EDIT*

A Dark Mechanicus faction would give a nice boost to Undivided Chaos as well. Imagine something along the lines of a Sicarian Dragoon crossed with the vibe of a Forgefiend.
