Hey guys,
I've been playing around with some possible builds for one of my 2 existing armies, and here is my take on a competitive themed Chaos list. It is a very fast and flamer/Smite focused list. Please let me know what you think!
Brigade Detachment:

point total: 1998 +51. List is void right now, I didn't factor in Heldrake Claws...
command point total: 13
Plan: Magnus and the Heldrakes turn 1 push, burn/smite, and assault to tie up the enemy's long range shooting. Magnus will use his double move psychic power if he has to, so he can move up to 32 inches to keep up with the drakes. Chariots will see where they are needed. Exalted Flamers will be responsible for summoning in the 6 10 man units of Brimstone Horrors onto the objectives, as well as their accompanying heralds and the Changeling(who will add much needed durability to the Tzeentch blob). The Chaos Spawn will provide a temporary meat shield for said Exalted Flamers.

Hey,
looks like you have a similar idea to me. Except I was going to take more Heralds on Chariots.
Your Burning Chariots cannot summon, it needs to be a <Chaos Character> that summons. :(

fair enough. At this point I might consider replacing some Burning Chariots with Exalted Flamers and then using the extra points to put my Heralds on Discs or Chariots.

i would use 9 brimstone+1 blue, so the blue cast smite and you dont lose a brim in the process, probably with magnus in the list i will play 10 scarab occult termies and take out drakes, occult termies with magnus within 9"+preiscence vaporize anything, if needed Magnus cast waptime on them or himself.

I have a similar list to this, and I actually found myself shying away from anything other than Tzeentch Daemons (Including Magnus) purely because of how good the bonus from The Changeling is.

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.
I have a problem.
Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

i tried this against chaos list
low
Magnus
batt detachemnt
DP tz (thousand sons), 2 claws and wings
loc
3x10 horrors (9 brimstone 1 blue)
10 scarab occult termies, 2 soulreaper cannons 2 missiles, sorcerer with power stave
batt detachment
the changeling
Dp tz (thousand sons) 2 claws and wing
3x10 horrors (9 brimstone 1 blue)
2x exalted flamers
the changeling is awesome that -1 to hit give a great advantage to whole army, horrors with 4++ save and D10 thanks to Loc (plus 6 potential smites) are one of best troop in the game, consider how cheap they are, scarab occult with +1 to hit and within 9" of Magnus kill almost anything, lot of targets to care with, good CaC and good firepower, I think you can do better but this is a good base.

True but the drakes are brilliant at tying up problem units turn 1 and draw fire from the advancing troops, three drakes could probably wipe or at least seriously damage one unit and then tie up 3 more units. I am certainly going to try a Hell turkey rush at some point.

I'm actually testing a more aggro version of this list which incorporates a little nurgle force.

Rules technicality question here: The summoned units aren't explicitly a part of your list at the beginning of the game. That is, you could technically use that dark ritual to summon any tzeentch daemons. So, do you actually qualify as a brigade detachment without horrors on board?

I'll rephrase: there is no such thing as too much dakka (even if you are using an entire artillery wing to desimate a unit of Grots).

I was looking at this earlier too. With the changling around, horrors become nearly as resilient as plaguebearers with a lot more offense.
It also helps things like flamers, screamers, or even daemon engines with a mark of tzeentch. Who does not love their forgefiends getting -1 to incoming shots.
I've been considering running a squad of tzeentch possessed in a rhino for some hard hitting assault.
A herald can give them STR 6 plus Boon of Tzeentch. A squad of 10 of them would be throwing out ~20 STR 6 AP -2 D1 attacks. Boon would give 10 more attacks, make them STR 7, or give them T5.
If the rhino advances on turn one, then the possessed deploy and assault on turn two, they have a strong 32.5" threat range from where they started (~15.5" rhinos first turn advance, 3" disembark, 7" move, 7" charge)
