Pretty much what it sounds like, to be honest.

I'm putting together a Human BB team, and as I fancy having the fantasy equivalent of this big lad on my squad, I'd like to mine Dakka's collective cleverness for advice.

When you paint darker skin on your human/humanoid models, how do you go about it? Is there a specific blend of GW paints that gets particularly good results, or any method you guys would recommend? Any help is of course very gratefully received!

The old masterclass face painting guide has them using scorched brown mixed with black,
then scorched brown
then mixed brown with graveyard earth.

Thanks! I remember those - never invested in them at the time, which I now regret. All right, I'll have a look and see what I can do with the new paint set that's similar to that.

For that skin tone, I'd use Steel Legion Drab and Cadian Fleshtone personally

Oh i didnt even see the link.

I feel like you should go burnt umber base,

cadian flesh tone mixed with a tinge of brown and maybe a tiny bit of red. (like very tiny)

i think there was a guide on painting other ethnicity but i dont recall who did it.

This tutorial from Duncan looks kinda close. You may be able to use it as a starting point.

Right on. I'll have to keep those shaky hands steady for this one, then.

Thanks to everyone else who replied - thanks especially for the video, Gaz, I've saved it for future reference!

Scorched brown and dark flesh with graveyard earth highlights.

I saw with eyes then young, and this is my testament.

I wrote a guide on my fb page once (link in my signature) and you can go read it, but essentially you have to mix equal parts blue, yellow and red to get the "base" skin colour. From there you can add white for brighter tones, black for darker ones, grey for pale ones, yellow for asian, red for indian, blue for bruises. But since you're looking for a dark skin tone just do the equal part primary colours and then keep adding white until you get the skin colour you want.
