Hey!!

First of all I'd like to say I understand 8th has just come out and everyone is still tinkering and playing around with there list but I'm looking for opinions rather than concrete choices.

I'm recently coming back to the hobby after many years but only ever painted rather than play so I'm honestly absolutely clueless, up to now I've decided between Necron and Eldar and I'd like to ask if you guys think there's a safe HQ choice with both of these in terms of going into 8th? I ask this because I'm not looking to go out and buy an army straight off the bat because I still need to buy everything else to make a start and could imagine it costing a ridiculous amount on top of an army in one go.

Thanks!!

Nottingham (yay!)

If you've got opponents who will oblige, why not try proxying a few HQ choices and see how they work out for you? If there's any particular units you like, have a look at what HQ have rules that have good synergy with them? If you like stuff from across the Eldar ranges then the Triumverate of Ynneade would be a good way to bring the rival factions together.

IMO it is always best to buy the box set and play that when money is an issue. Or eBay. As for HQ I would say first off get an avatar. Old metal ones are easy to find.
