Does anyone know if any company manufactures an orange primer or flat orange paint in an aerosol can? A possible paint scheme I am planning is going to be mostly Trollslayer Orange, and it would help to have a cheapish way to give them a sprayed on base coat.

You're probably better off either working up to orange from a red-brown primer, or base coating over a light grey, or using a yellow primer and shading down to orange as needed.

I'd probably shade down from the yellow, I think.

Yeah, yellow primer to orange was my next choice. Will probably make everything look bright as heck.

You'll probably want to start with a white or gray primer first, but perhaps something like a Tamiya spray would work for you?

If you have an airbrush, you should be able to find a flat orange enamel in various size bottles from Testors or Tamiya. I do this for all of my painting and the flat enamel is a far superior prime/base coat than acrylic.

I know people say build up layers, but that just starts to cover details. The less coats the better. If you want to end up with orange, nothing wrong with using the primer and base coat in orange in one pass.
