I see there is 2 Daemon Princes. Both are the same price (146/170 wings) but have different stats.

I have the kit and not sure which to build, working on Nurgle army.

Is one better then the other?

The first will most likely synergize better with Chaos Space Marine while the second will most likely synergize better with Chaos Daemons.

The second one does have a 5+ invulnerable save by virtue of being Demonic, and now also has 8 wounds due to the recent FAQ.

You seem to have missed something important; The 'Daemonic' special rule gives a 5++, so both types of prince do have an invuln. Also, the Daemon Prince of Chaos got FAQed down to 8 wounds.

Generally, I think the Daemon Prince of Chaos is a much better choice, though that is dependent on what you are using it for. The CSM version buffs both Chaos Marines AND Daemons, as long as the Daemons match their god alignment, but the Chaos version only buffs Daemons. However, the Chaos version gets the various Daemon abilities - a 4+ invuln, 5+ FNP, autofirsthit, or souped up Furious Charge.

So are you gonna use it as a tanky beatstick, or as a semi-good beatstick that also buffs your army?

also if the Daemon Prince of Chaos is your warlord and dedicated to Nurgle, it has 8 wounds, 5+ Invuln, 5+ FNP and 6+ FNP, all cumulative

Here are your two options: take the Daemon version, take advantage of daemon allignment rules and get re-rolls for your Daemon units or take the Heretic Astartes version, lose out on the Daemonic allignment rule but gain re-rolls for your CSM units.

So here are the questions:
Are you taking any Heretic Astartes units? If no take the Daemon version, if yes move to the next question.
Are you taking multiple Lords/Apostles anyway? If yes take the Daemon version, if no then move to next question (but why aren't you taking multiple Lords?).
Do you need the re-rolls to hit? If yes take the Heretic Astartes version, if no then you are lying to yourself.
