Hey folks painting up grey and purple tau.

What should I undercoat and base coat?

Looking at Iron Hull grey from P3. And beaton purple.

Can you paint purple over grey or black?

Should I undercoat white black or grey.. Or undercoat black and base coat grey? Then paint purple. Or is a white under coat better.

"When you call yourself an Indian or a Muslim or a Christian or a European, or anything else, you are being violent. Do you know why it is violent? Because you are separating yourself from the rest of mankind. When you separate yourself by belief, by nationality, by tradition, it breeds violence. So a man who is seeking to understand violence does not belong to any country, to any religion, to any political party or system; he is concerned with the total understanding of mankind." -Jiddu Krishnamurti world renowned champion of peace. An Indian man who spoke at the UN Peace summit 1985.

Well, if you're using both colours on a model I'd suggest using a grey primer/base coat and finding a decent purple to paint over it (grey would work fine). It depends entirely on the purple you're using.

While I love my Army Painter purple spray - the dropped bottle paint is watery and useless, where my Game Colour from Vallejo has excellent coverage for hand painting. Just depends on the colours you end up with.
