Probably work

I don't like the new weird breastplate scion guys, but I like the rules, and I've loved the kasrkin models since first picking some up years ago.

Between some of the FW hazard Cadians and my existing kasrkin, I think I can put together a pretty complete army, but that's going to require making them look a little bit more "carapacey". I'm also working on some kitbashing for a suitable Stormtrooper Captain (read: Tempestus Prime).

I post here because I'm interested in two things. I'd like feedback on my paintscheme. I'm colorblind, and a lot of times I've picked a paintscheme that made sense to me, but other people found... well, "interesting" is a word I've heard a lot. Secondarily, I'm wondering if my tempestus kitbash is kasrkin-ish enough to fit in or if there's any recommendations anyone can make to give it a bit more flavor.

So here's a plasma guy, just for the paintscheme. I know he's not done yet, but I can handle the touchups and polish so long as I know the general colors work together okay.

And then my kitbash:

Also, a tertiary question: Anyone have any color recommendations for the greatcoat?

Blue and yellow can go together great, but in this example I think your yellow is a bit too loud
if you're really set on the yellow then i would perhaps try a darker shade and then some light highlighting with the yellow you used.
and if you're not set on the yellow, I think Administratum Grey would go well with that blue imo. from what i can see the blue looks good though.
good luck

I agree. A touch of shading on the yellow (maybe some brown ink?) to bring it down a notch.

Aww. I was using the yellow to tie in to my infantry, which are Mordian Blue with that same yellow trim. I hit them with Gryphonne Sepia or whatever it's called, so I'll probably do it to the scions too. Hopefully that'll quiet the yellow down a bit.

Any thoughts on a color for the coat?

A leather coat would look good, it wouldnt clash with wither the blue or the yellow but still look substantially different.

Quite enjoying the yellow actually. Makes it a little hi-grim dark if thats a thing.
It is a touch strong though.
Kasrkin looks great
