Was hoping for a little advice/guidance from you guys as how best to proceed! Long story short, I'd like to make up some rough riders to join my Guard detachment for my Genestealer cult. Bit of fun you know?

However, wanted to go for something a little different than the current models, perhaps where there is a bit of Genestealer taint in the livestock too as well as the humans (hey, none of that sniggering back there!)

So not sure what to use as a base to start off. Want to try and keep it GW models as some tournaments round here are campaigning for 100% GW products at 40k games.

So I was wondering maybe going for some Saurus knights and then have the riders as acolytes? Add a few bits to make them look more nid-like?

One of my friends suggested Grot Spider riders, and I must admit the image of Neophytes surfing on top of genestealer spiders does make me laugh.

Any suggestions or thoughts are very much welcome! I'm not the worlds best converter but it's something I'm willing to give a good bash at!

There are no current models outside of Forge World, so whatever you want to do is fine.

That said Saurus Knights and Riders look derpy as hell.
I can't really give any good suggestion as to what you're wanting to do. You might be better off just getting the Empire Pistoliers(the commonly suggested go to for Rough Riders) and playing around with ideas from there.

Maybe hellstriders of Slaanesh combined with the GSC Upgrade sprue? They have mutant lance arms that would fit with the GSC's mutations, and the steeds could have genestealer bits added to them, making them mutant local fauna instead of chaos steeds.

The Muties from Gorkamorka might give you some ideas

Generation 2 or 3 hybrids riding purestrains

The only thing that I can think of is adding a third pair of legs/limbs and the five ridges on the forehead, to a horse model

Genecentaurs... A 6 limbed man-hybrid actually makes great sense for genestealers!

I think the obvious answere here is friggin' bad ass Genestealer-friggin-CENTAURS.
