I personal think the following codecs will see no new models: grey knights, choas space marines (other than the death gaurd stuff thrown in but i count that as the death gaurd codex) ,. Dark eldar and orks remember they did say some codecs will get no new stuff on release.

So what's your predictions?

Agreed on GK and CSM.

DE and Craftworlds probably.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

I bet CSM gets some new kits. They're marines so they're pretty easy to CAD up.

I could see chaos cultists getting a few more units. Non-marine sorcerers, for example.

I don't think Necrons are going to get any new units, but that's simply because I'm convinced that GW hates necrons and I don't want to get my hopes up.

If I don't expect anything, I can't be disappointed!

As GW now works, it's a matter of who we think will be getting new models in the next 4-6 months. And if that will include a new trilogy of books/narrative to further push the "new" 40K. I could easily imagine that behind the plastic curtain there is consideration for heavily revising the majority of the game's fluff/factions.

Not immediately, but it's not hard to imagine Ynnari taking pride of place amongst the Eldar (perhaps them and Harlequins etc.). It's easy to see IG get revamped - as they need it for basic troops.

I doubt Orks or Tyranids will get anything, even if a new story trilogy shows up. It's easy to leave the big baddies as-is.

Everyone but space marines.

I think at this point we'll see power armor releases for every major xenos book, with all new fluff being how hard the faction is getting their asses kicked by the primaris marines (or how great they think the primaris are if they're imperial). And a primarch release for every 3.

Between GW and Forgeworld, we've crested the 80% power armor summit over the last 3 years. For every major non-marine release, we have 4 marine releases.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

This really hurt to read. Probably because it's accurate.

Chaos is technically already seeing new units in the form of the DG models and the Foetid Drone thingy.

Only "Technically", because those things are being shoved into the DG codex so it's not like vanilla chaos is getting any goodies to itself.

As for who's not seeing new stuff my bet is on:

Dark Eldar
Grey Knights
Sisters of Battle
Inquisition
IG
Orks
Tyranids

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

this raises a question, if Space Wolves, dark angels etc just get the new primaris stuff, do we count that as new or not?

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Nottingham (yay!)

New Bikers / Daemonic riders hybrid box set for CSM, with Jugger and Steed Lord/Sorcerer kits; plastic Muties/Oblits, Havocs, CSM squad

Wolf Scouts kit for SWs but prob no new entries, they recently got loads

Orks get a hybrid Buggy/Skorcha/Trak kit with a new option that's kind of like a Venom

New units using existing kits here and there, like the Wazbomma and that giant Ghoul type things for Undead

I don't expect 'new' units for the Thousand Sons. I suspect we'll see the remainder Tzaangor units added to the list to help make their army a bit more well rounded to actually stand on their own.

As it stands right now, Rubrics, Terminators, Exalteds, and Tzaangors aren't going to be enough to make them a stand alone army. They'll likely see the disc riding Tzaangor fill a fast attack slot.

I'd be more than okay with the other Fantasy Tzaangors added to the army tbqh, I love those models. Tzaangor Shamans as a super-cheap psyker choice would be a perfect addition to the army.

Throw in the Osiron Contemptor and I would be perfectly happy with the "new" Thousand Sons units.

I'm not expecting anything new for Blood Angels. I doubt GW would release any Primaris kits for specific Chapters yet, and woukd have released all Primaris kis with the vanilla dex. On the off-chance we do get anything new, hopefully we will see a Triumvirate box with Dante, Mephiston and Gabriel Seth, but really I'm just wishlisting. From a realistic standpoint, Blood Angels have a full range which, Finecast aside, still looks awesome on the table.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.
