The way I look at the different Vets is based on what they are doing. If you want the superior firepower of the special issue bolter and maybe some heavy weapons you take Sternguard.
If you want fast hitting assault and access to a relic blade you take Vanguards.
If you want some vets to take with a character, or to mix the shooting and
CCW, or to fill up a weird amount of space in a transport you go with Company.
Company Vet Bikers are great for escorting a character or building a hard hitting and durable unit (storm shields and T5).
They all cost the same as Veterans but they bring different tools to the field.

They can still be taken as Bikes, even if they aren't in the new Codex the
FAQ said you can use Index units that weren't included still. So all the characters with Jump packs and bikes that didn't come over are still available.
