So I want/plan to get a leviathan dred for an Emperor's Children army. I'm just scouting out ideas though to see how people would make it look more chaos-y. I was thinking taking some of those spiked railing bits from the chaos vehicle sprue and some chains. But what about the helmet? Any ideas for a swap/conversion/sculpt over for that? Maybe some sort of speaker system mounted on the main body somewhere?

I'm normally pretty good when I have an idea in mind for a conversion, but the leviathan dred is so clean cut I'm having difficulty imagining a chaos version it in my head.

I don't think EC needs a lot of conversion - they are very much the colours; maybe some chaos iconage and the eye?

Since the search of perfection is kinda the EC bag, I'd double down on that. Pick one aspect the dread aspires to and turn it up to 11.

Beauty? Lots of nice flat spots for filligree, ostentatious bling and murals of Legolas. Oh, and mirrors. Like...sooo many mirrors.

Martial ability? Trophies. Not the ham fisted "took a rotten head and pushed it onto a spike" stuff those Khornate loonies love. Beautifully preserved ears, hundreds of them creating a mosiac worthy of making the Master's weep.

Sonic dismemberment? Speakers everywhere. Anything not speaker should be painted as loud as possible as well. Purple and orange Giraffe spots are good. Orange and blue Zebra stripes are too. Both is better. Both with day-glow lightning bolts is best.
Point I'm shooting for it to pick something worth obsessing about and go whole hog.

Thanks! That gave me some inspiration. Gonna need to work on my greenstuff skills, but I'm now thinking the filigree with faces skinned and stretched across the main body.

My plan for my Alpha Legion leviathan is to cover the upper two recessed searchlights, use that sloped area as a big canvas. I'm planning on make those areas scaled.

For EC I could see making them speakers as suggested or freehand something if you're willing to go all out on something

Follow the official GW conversion guide for Chaos. Add lots of spikes and gribbly bits. Done.

Those big front panels are just crying out for some sub-woofer detailing. A few brass rings with mesh behind them, and you could make the whole torso look like an enormous sound system.
