Hello,
Recently I made calculations to determine how many models are needed to charge and surround a transport so completely that (assuming transport is destroyed during the assault) none of the models inside can deploy.
Disembarking models must deploy completely within 3" of the transport and no closer than 1" of enemy.

You need more than that, at least when using 25 mm bases. I always use 18-20 boyz and a bike to kill a rhino with all hands inside. Remember, the disembarking model just needs to be within 3" of the transport, measured from the edge of the base to anywhere on the rhino hull. So the base of the disembarking model just needs to kiss the 3" disembarkation zone. Bikes are great for blocking transports. It almost makes up for their general suckiness. But the real block specialists are stormboyz. Greatest rhino-block-killers in the game.

That just contradicts what the OP said, so who's right ?

Do you have to disembark completely within 3" or just a small portion of your base ?

The rulebook just says that all models must disembark within 3" of the transport but not within 1" of an enemy model. Something like that.

I guess either argument could be made.

But I would assume that the units move as normal unless they have fly.

But then again. Just says 3 inches. It's like they teleport out of the vehicle.

The disembarking models don't have to have their bases wholly within the 3", just partially will do the trick.

Indeed I was mistaken, turns out RB says within, not completely within :(
