I'm requisitioning reinforcements and my Tech Priest no longer gives me the advice I need. Something to do with my regiment, and him not being a part of it.

Anyways I've been building and playing guard since 7th, and I feel I'm in a good place to buy my army a 'center piece'.

I love the baneblade, and it's inevitable that I will eventually own one. So I haven't been looking too much at GW. I'm more interested in Forge World, because it seems their models/molds do eventually disappear. With that said, I feel like I'm losing out with Forge World models simply because there's no chance to magnetize like most GW products. Forcing me to select a single load out for a vehicle.

This is where some input and some experience would help.

I've been leaning towards the Macharius Vulcan (mainly because of looks, and a little because it carries a Warhound Titan weapon) which sounds cool to me.
And
The Crassus Armoured Assault Transport (mainly because of looks again)

I'm sure the xyzblade can fulfill all of these roles fairly closely, but I selfishly want something a little more unique.

I'm interested in anyone's input. If you use a certain FW model, if you love it, and why. I'm open to pretty much anything. Other things that caught my eye were - Vulture Gunship, Valdor Tank Hunter, and I thought the Avenger Strike Fighter looked pretty cool too.

I'll provide my army list if you think looking at it might alter an opinion.

Spoiler:

Yarrick
Creed
Company Commanders
Pask
Lord Commissar
Tempestor Prime

11 squads (handful of special weapons)
3 tempestus squads

Handful o' Commissars

Sentinel

Bassalisk
Manticore
7 HW teams
3 Leman Russ
Wyrven

3 Chimera
Taurox

Aegis Defense Line

TLDR which Forge World model is worth getting for imperial guard if any?
Thanks for the input.

I'm venturing into FW as well for my guard and have my eyes on the Gorgon heavy transport (although it's not currently available on the site).

I feel as if the baneblade variants fill the role of a super heavy weapons platform quite well, however I'm finding more of a need for a large scale transport. I don't like the look of the Crassus, the Gorgon reminds me of the boats that landed on D-Day and I love that.

In terms of a weapon platform I have been looking at the Praetor Assault Launcer, because MIRVs kick ass...

I like the gorgon look too. That's why I mentioned FW not keeping models around indefinitely. I feel like I'm just a couple years to late into Warhammer to get the forge world stuff that interested me. Like the old chaos dreads, or the tauros for Elysians.

But being able to roll up the center of the map with 50 guys inside does sound like a lot of fun.

Thinking more along the lines of sticking as many bullgryn into the thing as I can afford and unleashing a nasty payload to whatever ends up on the other side of that ramp

You click on a topic and read the OP. That's generally how this works, I'm told.

Homebrew Imperial Guard: 1222nd Etrurian Lancers (Winged); Special Air-Assault Brigade (SAAB)
Homebrew Chaos: The Black Suns; A Medrengard Militia (think Iron Warriors-centric Blood Pact/Sons of Sek)

The thing I like about the Crassus is it's 280ish points if it's loaded out with 4 lazcannons. Seems like a pretty affordable mobile HW team, loaded with troops, or bullgryns

Never used it in a game (certainly not in 8th), but the Crassus is a great kit. Really good detail, and while it works well as a centerpiece, it can also double as a visual "command vehicle," almost like a discount Leviathan.

The Vulture is cool and sleek, but if you're looking for something truly unique it's pretty similar to the Valkyrie (obviously).

The Valdor Tank Hunter is awesome and unique as well, and would be a great centerpiece.

Current Armies: Guard, Dark Eldar, Raven Guard, Bretonnians

I'm assuming you own a Crassus? Can I ask what all does it come with? FW website is fairly minimal. Does it come with all the weapon sprus for it's sponsons?

It's been a few years since I bought it, but I only remember it coming with the heavy bolter sponsons.

Try looking at the Malcador super heavies. Particularly the Defender and Infernus. Both are quite nasty and look great.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

I like the storm hammer tank, because six sponsons and a hull mounted twin battlecannon.

But as your not interested in baneblade variants from GW, my other faves are either the gorgon for the ww2 nostalgia or the flyers, which, vulture apart, I think look incredible

Owz it work.

Macharius Vanquisher.

I wouldn't call it good, but if you're looking for something really cool and unique looking to put in the middle of your army, it's a thing.

Stormblade or the Arkurian Shadowsword are probably more competitive options.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

Yeah, I really like the Marcharius. My entire army is Cadian though. I don't think the Marcharius is exclusively a DKoK tank, I'm sure it would still look good with my army.

You can use the Macharius in a Cadian army. It's not DKoK exclusive. It looks awesome, but I won't promise it's rules to be good, because they're not.

If you're looking for something that looks good and wins games, it might not be a good choice, but if looking good is the only requirement, I'd definitely put a vote in for it.

Another vote for the Macharius Vanquisher if you're looking for something cool, however I believe the Stormhammer has 40k rules now...

That's so interesting. I've been looking under their Astra militarum tab this entire time and I've never seen that model. I'm glad I looked that up. Are the solar auxilia 40k or 30k? I've never seen these models.

Ive used the preator. Awesomely cool model. But variable shots gets me down. And the different fire types kinda suck. In that they are all the same.

I've been running with the Marauder Destroyer. The things a gun boat. And pretty resilient.

Fun fact. It's a flyer. But also takes up the Lord of War slot. So as per the rules it can still score an objective. And you don't auto lose ever if that's the only model you have left flying.

And at 20W with hard to hit. It's a pretty fun model.

Wow, I don't think I could swing the Marauder destroyer with the Mrs $$ wise. I'm incredibly tempted by that Auxilia Stormhammer, but that's pretty much in the same boat. If I'm sneaky enough... Maybe.

Ha, thanks for the input. it seems like it's an awesome infantry killer, but the Mac Vulcan seems like it'd be just as good if not a bit better putting out wounds. I told myself today was the deadline to pick one, and here I sit. Still looking at these models.
