Hello, nerds!

I'm investing in a small contingent of Alpha Legion for my Daemons, and am trying to keep them as "Loyalist Alpha Legion" as possible.

If you were to play against my army, and I produce Primaris Aggressors (Terminator size, 40mm base) with some minor converting and tell you they were Obliterators (Terminator size, 40mm base) would you accept this?

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.

I have a problem.

Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

This is like a weekly poll on Dakka. Most people are OK with it as long as it's consistent. Some people aren't. If you do a good conversion job no one will have a problem with it.

Primaris aggressors look clean, would need a lot of conversion imo.

Sounds like it's a worthy discussion then if it happens so frequently!

Considering Aggressors are already bleeding weapons from almost every orifice, I wouldn't have a problem with it provided you give them even more weapons and inform me of the fact.

Clean is kind of how I picture Alpha Legion, especially with their whole pretending to be loyalists, and infiltrating legions shtick.

I've got a squad of 3 highly converted centurions for obliterators, and no one has said anything but good things about them, so I think you'd be fine. I just explain what they are before each game:

Night Lord XIII Company: 6,600 Points, 12W-4L
Skaven Cheese-stealer Renegade Cult: 2,000 points, 0-0
Warboss Spine Squisha's Ork Warband: 3,000 Points, 1W-3L
Carcharadons Astra: 2000 Points, 11-2
Drukhari: 1250 Points, 2-0

Assuming you have it pretty obvious, like Kajakl's example, yeah, totally fine. I've considered converting them for centurions, myself, since I think they both fit the heavy weapons power suit look but don't look horribly ugly...

As long as they have an appropriately Chaos paint scheme (Alpha Legion), then I say go for it.

Yeah, Centurions could certainly work. Aggressors are oddly similar in size and have the "Bolters built in to their hands" look going on. Figure if I toss another underslung bolter or two it'll fit just fine.

I wouldn't use bolters but go with something bigger, it is after all a gun with stats that range from a sub standard autocannon (S7, AP-1 D1) to a Phoenix Pulse Laser (S9, AP-3, D3), it would definitely help if it looked the part.

Given the awful state of the current oblit models people tend to be very accepting of conversions and sensible proxies.

Take the ordinary Aggressor wrist mounts, extend the barrel a bit, and then see if you can fit one of the dragon muzzles off the Chaos vehicle sprues on it?

Torsion Cannons from Kataphrons seem like they could very easily be placed on the hand mount. Just remove the gun bits and replace it with the cannon, suddenly you're twice as imposing.

Might as well try. They're cheap and probably super easy to remove if the end result is...less than satisfactory.

I like how when I googled "CapriSun", "CapriSun Straws" came up before "CapriSun Juice". Apparently the buggers are really good for everything...except getting into the damn juice pouches.

Nothing gets into CapriSun juice pouches. They an unmodifiable +2 Armour Save.

Cut straw to size.
Drill hole.
Put greenstuff at one end, insert that end into hole.
Smooth stray greenstuff with back of hobby knife.
Done

I'm not claiming it's difficult, I just don't want to put a plastic straw on a model for any of the myriad of reasons one might not want to use a straw as a weapon bit. Lol

Absolutely fine.

Who are the two clowns that voted "no"? And for what reason?

Homebrew Imperial Guard: 1222nd Etrurian Lancers (Winged); Special Air-Assault Brigade (SAAB)
Homebrew Chaos: The Black Suns; A Medrengard Militia (think Iron Warriors-centric Blood Pact/Sons of Sek)

You'll never find 100%. Sometimes people will vote no just to have a contrary opinion. Overwhelmingly, people seem to agree on this point. Thanks, everyone!
