Just a poll of what models sell for the best profit.

"Look upon me and know that I can slay you at will. You have no defence save one: to look into the darkness at the back of your own mind. There, you will find Father Nurgle waiting to offer you life in return for your submission. Deny him, and you are mine." — Typhus the Traveller, Herald of Nurgle

I voted 40k, but I did consider WarmaHordes as I've sold some painted stuff in that market myself, and couldn't believe what I got for what I thought I had.

BLAH BLAH....blah.

None. All sell at a used item loss. Unless you are talking about some rare out of print models.

Help me, Rhonda. HA!

Completely untrue.

I've sold plenty of painted models through eBay as just that, and also gained commission work to continue armies in so doing.

Having helped manage a FLGS at one point, 40k models sell for the highest profit. This applies to new models sold at MSRP (the same you would see on the web store.)

Profitability is a different question than revenue. When 7th edition hit, his sales of 40k went down to zero for a few months. Many people were leaving the game, setting up 2nd edition / 4th edition nights, etc. Took at 6 months to get back to the point where it was worth having 40k stuff on the shelves, and that was after running discounts for several months.

So, profitability is there so long as GW doesn't screw up. Board Games was the #2 item, followed by card games and historical models.

For purely retail purposes I would say it entirely depends on the area. My local store pretty much only sells star wars mini's and board games, us Warhammer players are stuck in a small corner at the back of the store. Some places it will be cards, others will be Warhammer, just have to feel out the market.

If you are talking about commission painting.... Well I have no idea, so good luck!
