Missed this gem on the first few read throughs, only just seen how insane a solo assassin he makes!
T5 7W 2+/2++ against shooting and 3+/3++ in assault.
M10"
Ws2+ 4 S6 ap-2 D2 attacks and 3 S5 ap-1 D1 attacks. Rerolling 1s to hit.
Can outflank by setting up in any movement phase 12" from any board edge with the usual 9" restriction from opponents units.
The perfect back field harrasser imo. He won't be going up against Dreads any time soon (although he could lock one for a good long while), but perfect for picking off those Devs/HWSs/Chosen/Havocs/Reapers/Destroyers/Hellblasters/etc.
188pts.
The opponent knows he's coming so has to have something positioned against his arrival that can deal with him in melee (because he sure as hell isnt going to disappear with shooting), on both sides, and maybe in the rear.
Bargain in your eyes?

Outflanking doesn't work for me. I let him run towards the enemy together with his buddies on Thunderwolves and after 2 Rounds he smashes his axe into the faces of his enemies. I realy like him.
But the sad truth is, that he had never survived a single game. I 've got the 1s on my fingers... ^^'''

He works great against my Drukhari. He ensures I need to spread out or bubble wrap my Ravagers and when he does come in and kill something he is difficult to remove without firing my whole army into him due to his 2++.
I'd say he is one of the few units Space Wolves have available to them right now that is an awkward threat. Have a crack using him!

Yeah, his ++2 against shooting makes him a nice distraction too. I've tossed him up front and watched my opponent throw lascannons at him only to have them bounce off with ease.

His deployment option is nice, but not reliable without some kind of reroll. So then i just wonder if he's better than a lord on twc with a TH.

He's a good fighter but a bit too expensive at 188 points. A battle leader on thunderwolf with hammer and shield is 137 points while a lord on thunderwolf with 2 claws is 141. These are my two typical HQs on thunderwolf mount that I use.
His 2++ against shooting is almost useless since it works only with AP- shots, otherwise he still has a 3+ invuln. And being a character he shouldn't take a lot of firepower anyway.
If he was priced around 150 points he may be an excellent choice, currently is certainly solid but a generic lord or battle leader do basically the same job for fewer points.

@Blackie - why does his 2++ only work against AP-?

A: Yes, unless otherwise stated.
I have killed Harald twice. Once, with Death Hex and Smites bypassing his saves; the other time, he charged Berzerkers and didn't kill enough of them. No idea what AdMech can do about him. Troll King, indeed :/

You're right, I missed the faq, I though his rules counted only for armor saves. He can be a good tanker with a 2++ but still weak against smite or other mortal wounds. I wouldn't run him on his own or/and as the closest model to the enemy lines. To harass the opponent's backfield I prefer terminators.

Yeah, looks like I'll be taking a third psyker and a few more Cultists for screening. Death Hex him and he's Havoc-fodder. If you haven't got Dark Hereticus... good luck.
That said, ideally most armies should be able to do something that makes you wary of table edges. He is a bit of a Tsar Bomb, though.
