He's just a rumors collector like I used to be when I was a mod on Heresy, he is never the source of any rumor but I guess some people don't understand that and cry foul.

Rumor tracker is pretty much pointless for Faeit, it's the same thing as adding you Korlandril to the tracker for posting this rumor (well, it's pretty much confirmed).

Rumor tracker is only good (imo) for people who are actually the source of rumors. Like Atia, hastings or whoever else posts stuff.

As for the Eldar box why oh why didn't they have Iyanden on the box as that's pretty much a Iyanden host?

Please everybody don't answer. Start a new thread if we need be. Trust me, you really don't want to know.

I'm starting a new thread, because I do want to know. I've heard it several times now. Seen the blog. Seems normal. What gives?

I'm curious as well as I've only heard people decry that site. From what I gathered it tends to post clickbait-y stuff?

As said in the OP, faeit is a collection of rumours from many sources, most of which don't seem to be valid compared to the reliable individuals (harry, hastings, lady atia). So a fair amount of it is basically nothing but clickbait (and maybe a fun read). A bit like a gossip mag where there's confirmed rumours of elvis, or proof that aliens have landed. Some people don't like that kind of thing.

If i'm not mistaken i think there is a perception that Faeit will post anything from anyone as a verified rumour.

Since sites like Faeit or BolS seems to work upon articles clicked lot of people feel it's pretty much click-bait and trash posts with no real rumours most of the time.

Oh, does that mean that's where all the rumors of new plastic Sisters are coming from?

I believe Faeit once cited our very own Kanluwen as a source when he was talking about something another rumormonger (one of the good ones) said. They are NOT discriminating in their sources.

What they F is the point of this post? He is a blogger that blogs about rumors from others and some other things like army spotlights etc...

Seriously do we really need to start a new topic about this?

Should I start a new topic about BOLS now? or Bolter and Chainsword? How about the 50 other bloggers?

And there are other reasons to dislike BoLS.

I hadn't heard of Faeit before today, and I noticed that everytime it's mentioned people seemed to imply that there was something wrong about it. I haven't come across that attitude before without knowing the backstory, and I became curious.

Is that really something to get upset about?

IDK about bolter and chainsword, but i could easily see BoLS fitting into this thread. The guy was curious, so he asked a question.

One of the most recent go-abouts of Sister's Rumour is actually from Faeit...
The 'original source' of said rumour is a random poster making a random post on SpikeyBitz.

Yay!

Lol. I prefer to think of it as racial memory, much like the black rage for the blood angels. On the eve of posting, the sisters players' mind is overcome with visions of the past. Most overcome this, but for some the memories are too strong. Their eyes glaze over, and their speech becomes slurred. They begin to think they're living in the golden age, where new releases for sisters happen and the army is fresh and new. The mods take note of these posters, and separate them from their fellows to be formed into a special group that spearhead the charge wherever sisters rumours are needed the most.

Faeit is a good resource if you want an overview of the rumours floating around. Whether or not they are accurate is not the point really, as each should be judged on it's own merits and you should evaluate the sources yourself.

I also didn't know about this. I realised the issue straight away, as I'm in the habit of checking the content of links before clicking on them lol. Not cool. But I thought there was a way these days to reclaim web domains that clearly belong to your property, which dakkadakka is clearly an established location/business/whatever. Can't say I've ever looked into it thought.

I use to do that but then I realized that if there is a popular rumor, it's usually the most commented thread on Dakka's Rumor section.

Letting the masses do my googling is so much easier.

Curious? Sure, but it was a topic in another thread that a simple "who is Faeit?" could have handle.

I just dont believe in 100's of threads of common things that 1 person can answer and we dont need a discussion about it, it just bogs down the topics to me.

To me a new topic is meant to have a multi person discussion and debate.

You say that, Davos asked for the exact opposite. The quote I put in the opening post made it sound to me as if this was something that could have easily derailed that thread.

Threads can be broad or narrow in scope, I guess this was more on the narrow side, but I did learn a few things from it.

If, Who is faeit derails it then its not a good threat. A simple "he shows rumors, here his is site for more info" is enough

LOL, but thats just my opinion.

Speaking of derailing threats, i'm done with this one

I like feit but it is true that sometimes people make up rumors for attention and feit republish them for clicks or whatever without checking.

Two other good sides are called 3plusplus.net for tactics, and frontlinegaming for Videos and enthusiasm about everything.

Is this really a defense? We already know the reliable rumormongers, so why would we need a comp of all the garbage and have it floating around?
