So I am wanting to get into airbrushing, and have already gotten a few recommendations. I wanted to open the question up to a large number of people. So, what is the best for beginners, and what is best for experts?

I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you

I just bought this airbrush based on 2 recommendations from friends

So far it's been easy to use and set up, comes with pretty much everything i need to get started, and is relatively cheap! Wish I had more to chime in with, but I'm completely new and so far, tbh, this is a great starter imo.

Badger 155 Anthem.

This was my first airbrush, I played around with others and keep coming back. for me, it offers the fewest downsides and the most positives.

Double action, loads from the bottom, self clearing and easy to clean. I can get very fine points and cover very wide areas with the same tip.

For some reason, it feels like it's harder to clog than others. Even when it is clogging it still works - just requires more air.

Harder & Steenbeck Airbrush EVOLUTION CR.

German Engineering at its finest
I got that one since it is fully chromed and has ceramic seals - means you can dunk that thing in practically any solvent you want to clean it up.

But always be in the lookout how difficult replacement parts are to get for your chosen brush.
Badger is a well known brand that does well in overseas.

You really can't go wrong with any of the "starter" airbrushes from the big companies: Badger Patriot 105, Harder & Steenbeck Ultra, and the Iwata Revolution CR. Those all can be had between $80 to $100 and are of far better dollar-to-quality value than any of the cheap junk airbrushes that people love to recommend.

The next price bracket up is worth looking into as well. The mid-to-low high end is a pretty popular category of airbrushes and if well taken care of, will last you for a very long time. Some of the ones to look at are:

Badger Renegade Krome ($100)
Badger SOTAR 20/20 (usually around $115)
Harder & Steenbeck Evolution CR ($200)
Harder & Steenbeck Infinity ($300)
Iwata HP-CS ($150)
Iwata HP-CH ($250)

I rather like my Badger Renegade Krome that I'm using. Works nicely, was on my budget line and comes with 2 sizes though haven't tried yet switching to the larger size yet.

I started with a compressor-with-tank and airbrush kit. The brush was nice enough, but I upgraded once I got the basics working. The Badger Renegade Krome is a bit better to paint with, but much easier to maintain. Dismantling it for cleaning is nicer, and it goes back together better.
