Yarrick's Iron Will ability states:

"Roll a d6 each time Yarrick loses his final wound; on a roll of 3+ that wound is not lost."

Let's say Yarrick is down to his last wound and he's hit by a Lascannon which inflicts 3 wounds to him.

Does he have to roll Iron Will once or three times?

There's already a thread on this if you search.

He has to roll 3 times. Yarrick's last wound is taken away by damage, not by an incoming wound (since you're not dealing with a mortal wound here). This means there's 3 damage coming in. Assuming he hasn't saved against any of these, he'd have to roll Iron Will against each point of damage in order to keep it from taking away his last wound.

Okay, thanks.

On the shelf he stays.

Once he takes the wound. The wounds drop. Doesn't matter if he died from a shadowsword. On a single 3+ he comes up.

How I read it, how I played it.

I was swayed by the last thread to think this way.

Here's the other thread: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/741435.page#9642803

No need to repeat it!
