Hey guys, Long time lurker here who finally decided to contribute. I've got a long ongoing project of trying to finally do something worthwhile with the big chunk of plastic bits that has accumulated in my ever-growing box of bits. Nevertheless it's a first attempt at giving back to a community which has entertained myself for a long time. I'm generally quite bad at following up and painting my actual models, but I'll work to continually update this blog at least once a week. The main interest of the blog is to explore and focus on a lot of different factions within the 40k universe (And probably a bit on AoS). Therein goes everything from traitor legions and renegade legionaries, to subspecies and tiny warbands of such. Currently Renegade blackshields and their mortal auxillia- cohorts.
So here goes nothing. A few tastes of what I'm currently working on

Wow, the conversions look great! But it would be really nice if the pics were vertical lol.
I just rotate them in Paint, or you can use http://www.pixlr.com
I think it usually happens with iPhone pics =/ but you'll probably get a bunch more comments if you rotate them and re-upload!

Hey again guys. Thanks for all the great response, I've got some extra time on my hands lately so I'll be updating as frequently as I can.
I imagine the warband- being a renegade one, doesn't have an extensive surplus of resources so the regular men and women are armed with whatever they brought with them when they joined in. So a vast difference in personal wargear is normal. But a member which is assigned a role which would demand special wargear, like heavy weapons etc would be armed appropriately. But aside, the normal hench(wo)men are a rag-tag-along force brought in from wherever the renegade marines go. For as far hierarchy goes,
I'll have to think about it a bit more.
I've got a lot of different projects churning, ( death guard specifically), but here are some more shots of the apothecary marine, a new marine addition to the renegade warband as well as couple more mortal militia.
. Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh yeah, Can't wait for necromunda, so many conversion possibilities! Inq28 seems awesome but I don't know too much about it aside from that facebook group do some sick conversion work

Been gutting and de-nurglifying the plague marines that came along with the Dark imperium starter set. Personally I love the upscaled marines, but it has rendered a lot of my other marines and terminators kind of obsolete.,I've had to scrap a fully converted terminator squad because they look tiny compared to the new marines. But it's not all bad as it opens up a lot of fun possibilities for primaris/truescale terminators. A prospect I'll explore with Steloc Aethon from the BaC set. He'll make a great Captain for my rugged warband. I also keep throwing in a bunch of regular humans until they reach proper horde numbers. Additionally, I need to find a chapter badge/mark for the marines and a colour scheme for their counterpart.

Mostly marines this time. I've got a bunch of Deadmen at hands, but figured it'd take up too much space, so some will only be showcased after a lick of paint, ANYWAY Back to today's update. Truescale terminator captain and two marines for the Warband's 4th Battalion. Currently the warband has 4 battle-ready battalions. Each consists of 100-150 marines and up to 750 Deadmen. Each Pale hand is given a retinue of five Deadmen in regular operations. These Five Deadmen are the marine's pick from Buerger's Deadmen Army, which functions like a separate army with it's own ranking hierarchy lead currently by Lord Marshal Buerger Anker himself. The Deadmen are the Pale hand's core resource for recruits. A Deadman who has survived numbers of deadly encounters, will automatically be initiated into Buerger's Goners. The Goners serve as the vanguard for the pale hands and the rest of Buerger's army. Already at this point, the chance of survival is slim. Should a Goner prove himself in combat and survive the encoutner, he might be chosen to join the ranks of the Pale hands. Althought the Goner might choose to not join the paleguard and will instead be given a suitable position in Buerger's forces. Deadmen of the fairer sex/ or older age will not be able to become a marine, but may instead request to be prioritized when a marine chooses his retinue. A marine's retinue will often sport the better wargear, and the tactical outfitting of his henchmen is left to the marine. Marine's retinue or his ''Fingers'' will also be subjected to other enhancements should it be necessary. Another way to become a Pale hand is serving as another marine's retinue for a period of time and receive recommendation from said marine. Serving alongside a legionary is a pride-inspiring position and even though a marine picks his retinue, he may not choose one, who if removed, would damage the structure of Buerger's army, unless he himself would allow it. ALRIGHT, things are starting to take shape, which will help the creative process a long way, but that's enough ranting, here are the pictures.

Got some more Pale handers on the way and an ancient is roused from the depth of sleep to partake in glorious combat yet again! I'm painting all the guys and man Duncan makes it look so much easier than it is, but oh well. Aside from that, we've got a librarian, an upscaled captain and and a venerable dreadnought. I'm holding off painting the marines until I've made and mass-produced a chapter badge for the warband. I'm thiinking Gw Zombie hands with some fancy Additions would do fine.
