Hi, I think this is a crazy idea, so I want to know your opinion.
As almost every Eldar player, I love the Wraithknight model. However, the rules are too weak for its huge cost. And I find It really hard to buy and build such a model without using it in games.
A model with generally acclaimed rules, on the other hand, is the Hemlock Wraith Fighter. I don't dislike the model, but I prefer to spend my centerpiece budget on the Wraithknight.

It crossed my mind that a repositioned, slightly converted, Ironman-style flying Wraithknight could work as a really cool Hemlock count-as. However, I wonder if you would have any issues. The scale may be off (too huge, too hefty?) or the concept could be too far fetched.

Thanks for your input!

Its height doesn't look to be a million miles off the length of the hemlock, so plausibly it could work.

For some reason I read the word viable as variable, and it made me think of robotech. Get working on a transforming wraithlordfighter!

A flying Wraithknight wuld be...rather lame.

A Gerwalk-Wraithknight/Fighter would be awesome.

That sounds tempting! But I'm afraid the conversion would mess with what I originally liked about the model.
Maybe magnets would allow me to assemble It both normal and in a more "Fighter" configuration. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of conversion?

I suppose you've seen conversions of wraithknights with phoenix wings, like this one: https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/601352-.html
Not exactly what you're going for, but some of these WK look stunning, with what look like a reasonable amount of conversion.

That's more or less the pose and concept I originally had in mind. Cool or not?
I think the Wraithknight is gracile enough to work in such a pose with the wraithbone dorsal vanes opened to the sides as winglets and grav thrusters in the legs and back.

You could use the engines off the back of either a Falcon or off a Dark Eldar Raider, maybe with some of the Raider's smaller engines, to make an elaborate jetpack system?

Great idea! The more propulsion, the easier to digest It moving at supersonic speed
