So my friend is starting a tyranid army at the same time as me, and he's doing a colour scheme inspired by Blue Table Painting's "Fungus Nids" (below)

He would like some plants that fit the theme to go on the bases (to make them look slightly less ridiculous probably ), and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas how to make/where to buy them? Probably in the same pink-y purple and green-y turqoise. Really have no idea where to start looking. Thanks!
(specific examples would be great as well )

Aquarium plants (with some paint, and some work) can be pretty good. They look like cheap gak if you don't work on them though.

Ooh, great shout! I looked up “fake flowers” and got whole window baskets full of em come up, never thought of aquarium plants! Where is most likely to sell them? Hobby shops? Pet shops? Thanks for the help

GW's new basing bracken and vines look really great and you can paint them whatever color you want.

Fake flowers are any local craft store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby or whatever the European equivalent is. I just picked up a bunch of autumn color plants for basing for like a $2 each. Each plant should supply enough branches for a few bases.

For aquarium plants - pet shops or specialist aquarium stores (exclusively fish/reptiles) usually have a good stock in fake plants.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Yep, and eBay - tons of them. The catch is they're mostly dirt cheap Chinese shiny plastic....so you'll want to spray or paint or do something to them. Or else they look exactly like what they are - dirt cheap aquarium plastic plants.

On a surly Warboar, leading the Waaagh!

Go to a hobby and craft store that sells fake/silk flowers/plants. We have 'Michaels' and 'Hobby Lobby' on this side of the pond and they have all the fake, funky-looking flora you can imagine. I've used their goods many a time to make scenery and pimp out bases. I'm sure you've got a store along this vein over there.

Cheapest ever a dollar each! I bought 1 of each and have a huge tub of it now. Shipping time isn't too ridiculous either coming from china.

Those look perfect actually. Only issue I have is that it has nearly 2 months estimated delivery (not sure I can wait that long!), and that i can't get a sense of the material or scale before I get it. Do any brits know any good shops? Was thinking hobbycraft, but not sure really...

The scale is about twice as big as a marine, so big enough. Most pieces can be broken down easily. I trimmed them and hotglued them to some bases and MDF without issue. They are a soft plastic like rubber, they are semi transparent on the ends.

Pet shops are full of this stuff but is more expensive due to them be prepped for live animals. The stuff from china isnt cleans and would kill fish and what not, im assuming its the release agent that they use.

Its worth the wait IMO, but if you need some now I'd check out pet shops or a hobby store, I think Mel the terrain tutor said pound land has some grass looking ones in one of his videos.

For smaller bases, I like to use upside down venom sacs as weird alien fungi. You get a million of them free on your sprues and they look suitably tyranidy.
