Subject: Chapter Approved - heavy weapon team rule interpretation

The upcoming Chapter Approved release has a "**" footnote for DKK, Elysians, and R&H heavy weapon teams stating the following:
"If models in these units form heavy weapon teams, there is no additional points cost."
I'm confused. Does this mean you do not charge points per model or for the heavy weapon profile? For example, how would you calculate the cost of a DKK Grenadier heavy flamer team? How do you interpret this statement?
Here is the source (see 7th image down for ref):

Thanks!

You buy two models. They form a weapon team and it doesn't cost extra to do so. Ergo a weapon team costs same as two dudes.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Where would the extra cost come from? Do you still charge points for the weapon?
e.g. (model cost) X 2) + (weapon cost) = heavy weapon team cost
Is this right? If so, nothing changed from the IA index/faq and it makes this state irrelevant.

I didn't understand why GW brought this up myself at first, but upon really looking at it there is a points cost for a Heavy Weapon Team of 6. So maybe some people were thinking that instead of paying 8 points for the 2 guys they only had to pay 6 or someone may have thought they had to pay 6 on top of the 8 they already paid for the guardsmen.

It's a clarification statement not an errata. Why would you expect a clarification to issue changes?

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Yes you pay for their weapons. The 'doesn't cost extra' purely refers to switching two one-dude models for one two-dudes model.

The statement does not state that it is a clarification or an errata. Given all the other changes in CA, I did not want to assume intent (i.e. reduction in point cost). In my opinion, it falsely implies change given that they already addressed this issue.
I suppose I can see why others could have been confused, although I thought the FAQ was clear. A simple definition of "additional points cost" would benefit the intent.
Thanks for your interpretations.

Yeah when I got the Codex I thought for a day that there is no cost for the heavy weapon itself, but sadly it states "models in these units... no additional points cost".
So still pay for wargear as usual but the clarification is there becuase HWS are 6 ppm, so clarifying they are still infantry squad ppm. Seems clear as it states "models".

Now if it's still paying the infantry squad PPM and it only is one model, presumably it would be 4 points, because 1 model in an infantry squad is 4 points... (but then you end up with a 36 point infantry squad + wargear...)

I hope 9e drops the whole "team" thing and just says "X individuals may take a heavy weapon" for a given unit type.
The "team" bit does little but confuse, I think - the loss of the "loader" doesn't appear to be any issue, and they can still behave as a regular infantryman anyways.
