Collecting for alot of years, never played much apart from necromunda and mordheim. My friends recently decided to play 40k, 500 points patrol. Looking through the finished, not finished, not started projects I have, I was inspired to create a squig force. I've chosen Tyranid rules.
Gunna have a broodlord, 3 Zoanthropes and 3 squads of 18 hormagaunts to begin, anyway here's what's finished, one squad of 18 and the 3 wyrdsquigs (Zoanthropes).
I've got the full army made and base coated, if people show a little intrest I'll post more photos, if not I'll upload as there completed, hoping to be done by Christmas on the first 500 points. Aiming for every squig to be unique

I'm working on a Squig Army myself, but the chance to sculpt Giant Squigs...ZOMG sign me up! Who doesn't love dual purpose armies?

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

This is definitely one of the more interesting titles I’ve clicked on... not dissapointed! Interested to see some later monster conversions!

Loving it! Great theme and well executed. I really like the psykersquigs.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Next up I have my first big squig, don't get excited it's not a carnifex or anything, it'll just drop in hormagaunts units to add variety. Taken alot of inspiration from 40k Tyranid swarm art, where there all sizes with loads flying around and such, anyway this one is the first of 3 I've done. Next to standard squig for size comparison

And from his good side

The 2nd big Squig, don't like him as much as the first, but he's still fine. Same standard squig for size comparison

And his profile shot

The 3rd is now completed, so....
3 big Squigs

Comments and crits would be appreciated

Maybe they could be warriors? They are quite a lot larger

This looks brilliant! You could use AoS mangler squigs as carnifexes.

Cheers, and I like your thinking, but too hold, they ain't warriors, maybe somewhere down the way they may get swapped out and create a genestealer unit though. But no genestealers in my first 500, or rough thoughts for 600 points

Thanks you, I have been thinking of that further down the line, not a huge fan of the mangler squig model. Trying to think of a way around that. Some one did some minis called giant cave hoppers. There real nice, but trying to stick too gws miniatures

Just picked these up in Worcester for £5 each. Don't quite know my plan, but probably carnifexs

Was just far too good a deal to pass up for such great squiggoth bases

Amazing sculpting work and good paintjobs. You should really work on the photography though, these pictures don't do them justice.

I like squigs and while it's an interesting project, I admit I probably wouldn't enjoy playing against it (just having zero idea who was what, and what did what). I don't think it's strong as a proxy-army, but the minis are always good fun.

Thank you power elephant, Yeh photos are crap, only got a camera phone, not a tech guy, don't own a camera or computer.

As for the not knowing what things are, I see what your saying, in the first 500 I'm doing if it's not a Zoanthropes or a broodlord, it's a hormagaunt. Just a swarm army. The variety is just that, variety, don't want it too look to uniform. There just weird fungus animals after all
