Yeah, it makes a lot of sense to adapt their existing range to fit onto these tiles.. and if you like the idea of a 2.5D layout it seems like a great choice as long as you live in the US

I imagine you could use them on any Gaming Mat to create a cyber dungeon, but yeah, they're sized to fit the invisible walls in Necromunda.

Aw, seeing postage (and imagining the stupid amount customs charge you) took me from joy to despair. Would love something like this

Cheaper than buying Zone Mortalis tiles at £24 each.

As a purveyor of all things MDF I feel your pain. However, it cuts both ways. We have TTCombat, Sarissa and 4Ground, not to mention the various companies in mainland Europe. Australia has several good MDF companies too! But since it is almost always prohibitively expensive to ship MDF product out of the region it was created in, we shall just have to wait for DRD to have some kind of free worldwide shipping deal

Or some enterprising Europe based company to do the same. *holds breath*

Or even better companies could share the laser plans between them so you don’t need to ship MDF across the pond!

Perhaps arrange a mutually beneficial relationship with TT Combat or similar?

They provide your stuff to Europe/UK, you provide theirs to the US?

I mean, these things are really quite nifty, but need them to be competitively priced against FW's Zone Mortalis.

I have the DRD dungeon kit and is a high quality kit.

Actually, I bought it after a GMG 'widgets and wonders' video on Youtube and then watching that crew play some games of Frostgrave with that terrain.

I'll probably wind up getting this as well - I could always use the walls for 3D Necromunda as well.

That is a brilliant idea. BRILLIANT. Licensing or swapping designs between a mix of US, UK, Eurozoen, Aus, companies would be amazing. There's several kits from overseas that I would love to get but shipping is always a killer.

For what it's worth, this set costs about £155 to the UK (including shipping and VAT), whereas nine ZM tiles from Forge World is £224 (plus £27 postage, although you might as well buy a pack or two of doors and get free shipping instead).

But about half of that is shipping. The actual cost of the things would make ZM actually affordable.

The "actual cost" is what it costs me to get these through my front door - £155.

Which is a good deal; I'm not complaining.

Well, to descend into pedantry, the actual cost "of the things" is what you're paying for the item - then you're paying for the service of them being shipped.

My point was more that it's possible for a company to commercially offer a product like this for half of the £155 if someone sorts themselves out to offer it in what you would imagine is the games biggest region.

If these were up for £80 delivered Id certainly get a set

I'm seriously considering it at £155; it looks like you think I'm complaining they cost too much shipped to the UK, which is exactly the opposite of what I'm saying.

Not at all I'm only talking on my own behalf. It's too rich for my blood at £155. That could be nearly 3 Promethium Refineries!

@$90 + reasonably cheap postage and from inside the EU would be cheap enough for me though. They certainly make the boards look lovely

This thread cost me money, picked up two sets with the intention of using them with Necromunda boards and as zone mortalis on their own.

Yeah, I like them, but the shipping makes them enter into the "yeah... I think I'm gonna try and make my own with insulant sheets" rather than the buy list, unfortunately.

Seriously, all these MDF companies need to start licensing things to each other so we can get any design cut and shipped locally.

They’re a great idea, but at £155 I’d rather pay the extra to get the Zone Mortalis tiles.
