Sometimes when I read something about Warhammer 40,000, I can't help but get the feeling I may be the Person that likes all the armies. Now I'm not saying I'm a big fan of every single army like say, I like the Space Marines, but I'm not a big fan of certain Chapters like the Genesis Chapter or the Marines Malevolent. I mean what the army basically is. Now I do have problems with the armies, for example, If I had to pick a Favorite Army, I would probably say Chaos Space Marines and Orks. Some problem I have with both Armies include some things regarding playstyle, like mere the fact it's debated on who's Codex is the worse and stuff like that. But The Main reason I like Chaos Space Marines is that of their interesting fluff and Cool models and for Orks it's for their halirarous lore and play style. As a matter of fact I plan on making My Chaos Marines into ether Emperor's Children or Sons of Malice and I've painted up some Bad moons. However, while I do support the traitors, I've been interested in making a Loyalist Space Marine army with either the regular codex or Blood Angels. I also think the Grey Knights to be alright and the Sisters of Battle to be overlooked. Heck, If I had to pick with army I like the least I would say, the Tau but even then I like their models and shooty gameplay. But overall I feel that I'm the only one that I like every army in some way or another.

I like most of the factions. It's true a few chapters have serious golden vanilla problems *Cough*Ultramarines*Cough* or are still a little 2d but that seems to be chanigng.

I was pretty frustrated that the Tau won every battle in the Damocles books, but at least it showed they weren't the dogooders they used to be. Shadowsun killed a couple million civilians in order to look good to the Ethereals.

Chaos has been steadily getting more complex narratively in recent years. Khorne is still KillKillKill, and I'm pretty certain that GW wants Slaneesh to go away, but it is getting better.

The Necrons need some serious love. They've been terribly abused plot-wise, shuffled from one bad backstory to another and never really getting the limelight they deserve.

I'm trying to keep it to two factions when I play, but Primaris stuff is calling to me. The fact that Astra Militarum is getting a ton of nerfs while the superior SM stuff is getting kid gloves is pushing me that way. Why fight the inevitable?

One of the funny things about Warhammer, be it 40k, Fantasy or Age of Sigmar ,is that I like all factions and armies.

In many other settings and universes, theres many factions, armies, etc... that I don't find interesting or even dislike how they look, their "feel", their lore, etc... the Rebels in Star Wars, for example, I despise them.

That doesn't happen to me in warhammer .Even the armies that I like the less of all (Normally elves, like Eldar or Dark or Wood Elves), I think they are beautifull armies with a interesting lore and background. As you, this doesn't mean that I like everyone equally. No, theres armies that I really love like Tau, Dark Angels, Tyranids, Greenskins, Ogre Kingdoms or Lizardmen. But if I would rank the Warhammer factions from 1 to 10, the ones with the smaller number would be a 6-7 at worst. The ones that I find less interesting, I still find them interesting in their own way, just not as much as the best ones.

So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I like all factions too. Have since the very beginning when I encountered 40k through playing Dawn of War Soulstorm. After reading a lot of Tau fluff, I got a little tired of them always winning, but Tau fluff has become a lot less one-dimensional in recent years so I really like them again.
For Fantasy it is probably even more true.

I, too, enjoy all of the factions.

There are some I certainly enjoy less than others, but overall I think just about every faction has something for me to like about their aesthetic or background. Every army has at least a few kits I'd love to have, too.

This is something of a problem as I'm well on my way to collecting "sample" armies for all of the different factions...

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

I think there are a lot more factions I dislike than I like. It has nothing to do with an objective value, I just don't like 'em personally; for example, I find Guard to be really boring both flavorwise and mechanically but it'd obviously be folly to remove them from the game.

I also like all of the factions/armies for one reason or another. The closest I get to disliking are the Tyranids and Dark Eldar; I don't care as much for the aesthetics or background, but I do like their mechanics and play styles.

I'm actually pretty cool with all factions. I definitely think the Tau could use more fleshing out, but then again I've only been reading through the HH series and AFAIK the Tau never show up in those. Still, I think they need a decent injection of Grimdark before I can really warm up to them, but they still appeal to me "giant mech" itch. Granted, I lean more towards Mechwarrior than Gundam, (hence my love for ork walkers) but the battlesuits still look neat to me.

I actually feel fortunate that I don't...makes the hobby much easier. I enjoy "most" in a fluffy way (wouldn't mind seeing them as opponents in a battle report, or reading a short story about them) but some could disappear overnight and I wouldn't bat an eye.

I like all the factions - there are models that I don't like however:

the current incarnation of Wolfen, Space Wolves on Wolves, Space Wolf Super Sled, Tau suits, Centurions, all the plastic Space Marine flyers, Dreadknights.

So I don't buy those models

When I first heard of the hobby in 5th edition, I bought every Codex and had considered almost every faction at one time or another (except Codex Marines and SISTERS). The Hours Heresy book series got me interested in Loyalists (and even more into Traitors). Every faction has great background, which is always the most defining part of the hobby to me.

Any faction I don't like is purely due to tabletop experiences and not on background Curse you Space Wolves! (I forgave them after hearing Russ in some of the HH audios)

Yeah HH will do that. The traitors are more interesting because they naturally have more of a story arc. All the legions started out good (at the very least they fought for the Imperium), then half became turncoats. The ‘why’ is what gives them more flavor than the loyalists. There are some very interesting loyalist legions, but ALL of the traitors are interesting because more effort had to be put into them to explain their individual motives.

I like them all except daemons. Daemons are lame. Also, the wolfy-mcwulfen viking theme of Space Wolfes has been painted on a little too thickly. And the inquisition orangutans with finger-ring lasers? What were they thinking? But you have to look hard to find the super-lame stuff.

And 95% of the lore I pretty much like, and there are many, many armies I would like to collect, paint and play. Also, boobs are nice.

Fluffwise I like all major and the vast majority of all 40k factions. The only thing I dislike really is the eldar (all kinds) look. I REALLy hate their armor. Most of their vehicles. The BDSM look of the dark eldar. All that. It's just ugly or bland to me.

There are exceptions. Pain engines look cool. I dig the haemonoculus covens.

But man... Eldar stuff... what a pile of crap.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Outer Space, Apparently

It took me some time for the factions to grow on me; I started just liking Imperial Guard and nothing else, a few years later I was reading about anything and everything 40k, and now I own stuff from 5 different Factions.

I genuinely think that the longer that someone is in the hobby for, the more it grows on them. Ultramarine hate is so yesterday...

I like all the factions but ultramarines (and their yellow cousins), imperial knights and chaos daemons. I didn't liked tau in 7th edition because I can't stand armies with only big dudes but I actually love most of their catalogue. Tau armies with their infantries and vehicles, plus the support of the suits, look amazing IMHO.

I'd love to see all the factions with the same amount of love but unfortunately some of them never show up, even in friendly metas.

The thing I'd like the most about 40k is to see lesser vanilla marines, AM and chaos and more harlequins, deathwatch, BA, gen cult, inquisition and SoB. Lesser soups and more pure armies themed around the less common factions.

I like some of the fluff for every army. Every faction has some bit of lore, or some aesthetic quirk/model, or some book, that makes me like them. However, a lot of the fluff for certain armies I dislike, so I can come off as not liking certain factions (for example, most of the fluff about how Tyranids fleets and hive ships work rubs me the wrong way).

I can dig 'em all to one extent or another, my only beef is that the Marines are supposed to be these ultra-rare superwarriors that only show up in times of gravest crisis, most Guardsmen/ PDF etc will only hear about them in legend - but every bugger plays them!

I suppose it's inevitable, they're the poster boys of humanity and probably the easiest to get started with, but from a fluff perspective it feels wrong that there are probably 10 x as many SM miniatures than IG

From a fluff, point of view, i also too like all of the factions. Yet, I do prefer certain factions over other factions. Case being, I prefer the IG and CSM over all of the other factions.

I prefer the AM just because in a galaxy full of terrors, it is the simple man with a simple lasgun, that stands up to defend humanity against those very same terrors. They do this through simple courage and following orders. They have the equipment to take on all comers. And it is their leadership, that chooses to employ the right weapons against the right targets to win the day.

As second place, I like CSMs for their bitterness towards the Corpse Emporer. How the traitor legions fell from grace, is a great line of stories onto themselves. And how far they are willing to sell themselves to Chaos to make it happen.

I like most of the factions, but not new'crons. I LOVED old'cron fluff and aesthetic, and I think it is really cool. Old'crons are the faction that got me into 40k.

But then the new'crons happened, and I hate the new'cron fluff and despise the over-the-top Egyptian theme. I held out hope for a while that they would retcon them back to the way they were, but recently I realized that is never going to happen and the faction I loved exists only in my head. Now I HATE new'crons with a burning passion, they are a perversion of every thing I know the Necrons to be and a constant reminder that my favorite faction will never exist!

If I had to pick one faction that I dislike it would probably be Tyranids because in my eyes they look like bad caricatures of the Giger Alien. But even Tyranids have some nice units, like the tervigon.
Despite playing Daemons myself I also find most of the Daemon units aside Nurgle pretty ugly, especially Tzeentch and Slaanesh. That being said I like the fluff behind Slaanesh and Tzeentch so I can't say that I hate those factions.
And even though I'm rather tired of GW's Space Marine fetish I'd never say that I hated SM because of that. Yes, compared to CSM they are pretty boring, but they still got nice models.

Long story short I do in fact also like all the armies.
