Hi there guys, me and a group of friends have decided to get back into Warhammer. I’m more into my lore and painting and sadly, I have not the slightest of clues as to how to make a competitive army. I understand that formation are a requirement these days. I would like to have a combined detachment, nonetheless my friends will have super competitive armies - And I feel just getting crushed isn’t going to be too fun ☹️

As such I need your help! My current list looks like this:

1x Tech-Priest Dominus
10x Skitarii Vanguard
5x Rangers
1x Onager Dunecrawler
1x Data Smith
2x Kastelan Robots
5x Ruststalkers

So I’m trying to keep this army within 1500 points, as I said I was hoping to have some space marines in there, I was specifically hoping roll a Lamenters themed army, so if anybody has some advice to give it would be throughly appreciated. Cheers!

I think with only 2 robots you can drop the datasmith. Exchange the TPD for a much much cheaper enginseer and either drop the rust stalkers or use them as infiltrators. I'd also drop the rangers as they aren't really doing anything for you. That should leave your best units in-tact and give you plenty of room for your Lamenter units.
