I'm looking for some advice on how to buff up the poxwalkers in this list. It is meant for a primarily friendly game, but still aiming for competitive to some degree:

Assuming Typhus (Blades of Put.) stays near the walkers along with Necrosius, they should be Str 5, T5, Wounding Eldar on a 2+ and getting mortal wounds on a 6+?

They are hitting on 4+ rerolling 1's to hit from the Prince... With Presience I can make that hitting on 3+

Any thoughts on how to buff the poxwalkers a little more? Anyway to get another +1 to wound?

They are obviously meant to tarpit the hell out of things while Magnus, the Prince and Typhus lay down death and smite storms.

I think a few cultists for feeding the pox horde with TDW stratagem is better than starting with all pox walkers. Using Cultists as screens for charges, whose casualties only reinforce the pox mob is just nasty.

Plus Necrosious, Typhus, and Magnus all BFF on a battlefield is a fluff abomination.

I admit, fluff wise, I don't pay attention... I only play the game, I don't read fluff.

Tallyman does the The Seven-fold Chant, 2D6 Refunds your CP if you roll a 7 lol. (16.66% chance)

I'm not sure I would think this is really worth points... maybe 1 CP per game

There’s a death guard elites choice that allows all friendly units within 7” or possibly 3” (can’t remember exactly) of him to re roll 1s on their disgustingly resilient saves, I think it’s the plague surgeon but double check, one or two if those will make the poxes more survivable. Which will definitely help if you can’t run the cultists with the strategm.

I mean.... its INTERESTING.... thats a lot of zombies. However, other than magnus (and to a lesser extent, the drones) you have no real threatening units; if someone can blast your one unit of zombies with flies off the board; they can gun down anything else with ease. I'd run the guy that denies chares from attacking first myself. I mean.. it looks interesting, thats a lot of zombies

The Daemon Prince and the Bloat Drones can do ok vs light tanks as well. You are right though that it is a bit limited if there is a lot of heavy armor on the table. The zombies are damaging tanks up to T7 on a 2 and mortal wounding on a 5+. I think that + psykers to toss lots of mortals makes it capable but not amazing at tank busting. I have modified things a little to put back in a maelific lord for more tank killing psykiness, but also cause I don't like the spawns.

I will see how it does in the next week or so

What if these Beta Smite rules stick around? I dunno, I guess I'm of the opinion that not getting myself attached to smite spam is a better long term plan as we all knew it was going to go away eventually lol

The zombies are so slow that they shouldn't get a chance to do much armor busting against a competent opponent. I owuldn;t count on it anyway..

@Zid - I would just assume those rules stick around in some form. That way you'll be pleasantly surprised if they don't. The decision to spend big on a tourney army based on mass smite is a risky move right now IMO. It seems likely to me that multi-Smite gets hit with the nerf bat.

He knows that I know and you know that he actually doesn't know the rules at all.

I know it is a DG list but mobility will be a key concern as the primary fast attack units (Magnus, drones, Prince) will be your opponents choice targets.

Also smite spam cannot be used as anti-vehicle in this list. The mobility isn't there. Magnus can put out damage but will be highly exposed due to the rest of the list moving slow - even if he downs a vehicle turn one against gunline heavy armies he will likely be isolated. The DP is the only other unit with sufficient mobility to choose what you smite, otherwise your opponent will be dictating your smite priority.

i really hope the beta will be used, im just saying in that list you have the tools to handle veichles. I ve seen what Magnus+Dp's can do in 1 single turn.
