Say I park a big tank on an objective and my opponent can't place a model within 3" just due to the size of the tank, does this mean they can't take said Objective, even with an Objective Secured unit, until they blow the tank up?

That is correct.

So what if the object is not flat, so you can't place a model on it, so do you place the objective on the base in the middle and make it so its they can't get to it, or do you place it in contact with the objective and someone can still take it from you if you don't have the objective secure rule?

If the objective has a base, I would say no to that though, since you can only be in base to base contact, and not on top of a base, so that could be a way around the parking on top of an object, either place it on a base or make it built up so you can't place anything on top of the objective.

Objectives aren't models. You can build them using a base, but that doesn't mean that they have a base from a rules perspective From a rules perspective, they're just markers to indicate where the objective is. I'd do what golfers do... replace the objective with a flat coin if it would otherwise be in the way (like when one golfer is trying to put past another golfer's ball).

^ this guy has the right idea

And yes. That baneblade parked on top of the objective would shutdown any model trying to contest or capture unit it's gone

It's no sillier than flamers being able to kill supersonic planes or being unable to hit an Avatar of Khaine because a single Guardian is 3 micrometers closer, behind a wall and totally invisible.
