I can't seem to find them anywhere, not even on GW's website. I'm sure it's right in front of my face and I'm missing it, but if anyone can provide a link to where I can buy Space Marine Lt's I'd be much obliged.

What normal lieutenants not the primarus ones?

they dont exist as a kit yet.

best option is kitbashing off a sternguard kit.

Yup. Kitbash it the way of it.

The old multi part captain, or either of the veteran boxes would make a good base. You want something more impressive then a vet sarge, but not quite at captain levels of bling.

If you have a chapter upgrade frame, he’s a good guy to use the bits on.

Or the Space Marine Commander kit.

Excellent answers, thanks guys. GW's failure to make a model for an officially sanctioned unit is rather disappointing though.

I mean it is just another power armor unit, wysiwyg kits for their equipment already exist. I was surprised they gave nonprimaris LT as an option to be honest. seemed like a good way to say Roboute added them into the command structures of chapters. that said not looking a gift horse in the mouth I just grabbed a tac marine box for the bodies and threw the right equipment on from bits in my bit box to have a handful of loadouts.

Well lieutenants existed before so there are technically official models

good luck finding them though

Given GW’s recent “no model=no rules” stance, I’m more surprised then disappointed. But I like kitbashing, and it seems like GW is slowly trying to push that out of the hobby, so will take advantage of it when I can.

Lieutenants are also not technically a new thing; they were around in the old RT days. So if you want to be hyper-100% WYSWYG you just need to find the old guy.

If it helps for ideas, here is the JP LT I recently put together. Still awaiting paint.

Personally I'm happy; the "no model=no rules" thing leads to bizzare and absurd situations like Deathwatch characters forgetting how to use Jump Packs because there's no explicit kit for it.

Darn Ninjsa. I knew I should have just lead with that guy in my first post, but thought I’d try to be more constructive first.

Search on GW site for "lieutenant". A blood angels primaris and dark angels primaris lieutenant will appear by the magic of search. The blood angels one looks easier to make non chapter specific.

as I noted. there is also the space marine commander box. that you can easily use to create a space Marine leuitenant.

what we are missing is a PRIMARIS Lt. but these can be kitbashed from other primaris minis (the 30th anniversiy sergent comes to mind) and if you're going to be starting a primaris army, chances are you already own dark imperium and thus have two lts.

I suppose the space marine leuitenant is simply this editions "Starter box exclusive"

Well, the old multipart kit is labelled as 'Space Marine Commander' and that is not a Space Marine rank or a codex entry, so they probably intended you to use that. But of course any marine model with proper gear will do.

There’s a Primaris Lt. in the Dark Imperium box set.

Two of them, actually, with different loadouts. It's a shame those are some of the models dropped from the cheaper 'Know No Fear' starter.

The Sternguard kit’s a good source of spare fancy bits (shoulder pads, helmets etc) for tarting something up into a Lt.

As above, any particularly blingy model can represent a Lieutenant.

The Space Marine Commander kit, or a model made up of spare parts from Sternguard/Vanguard veteran kits would be great.

There are A LOT of things that exist GW doesn't make a model for. New codexes are getting rid of them but that makes people mad.

Arguably theres a Lieutenant in the Space Marine Command box. There's a "master-crafted bolter" in there, as well as a nice Power Fist, and a number of shoulder pad options and decorative bits. Imo that's the best place for a basic marine Lieutenant, as the box has a couple nice options, and the parts for an Ancient, an Apothecary, and a Company Champion. Technically I suppose you could turn the last model in there into a Lieutenant as well. 5 characters in one box!
