Subject: The single best GW terrain kit?

So not counting bundles and boxed sets like Shadow War Armageddon, what is the single best individual terrain kit that GW produces?
Would your answer be different for a kit you planned on converting? Or cutting up and using in a variety of terrain pieces?
Are there any that truly shine only if you get multiples?

I was recently pretty amazed by Plasma Conduits - they are by far the most detailed GW terrain kit I own, nearly Rockgrinder level of detail on those, much higher than other Sector Mechanicus kits.
But I must say, that I have to "vote" for entire Sector Mechanicus range. Pretty much because this is just one, huge, modular "kit" of Warhammer LEGOs, just sold in smaller portions and nothing else compares really. I do hope that they still have more kits of this system in developement.

My favorite single terrain piece is the 40K Battlescape, the one with the copse of trees and a Rhino wreck on a terrain base. Shame that it has been OOP for a while now.

There isn't one really. It just depends on what you're going to do.
Sector Mechanicus stuff is *sweet*.
Promethium pipeline is great kit.
Walls and Fences is too.
Current fave is Munitorium box (the crates etc) - useful for so many things.

Sector Mech kits for sheer possibilities, scale and modularity. And not too badly priced either.

There is no real single best kit
but if i had to pick one it would be oop Anphelion Base
its soo flippin cool and effectivly cut a table in half. making more intresting games instead of a long range shootout.

I think they stopped selling it, but the warhammer fantasy Fortified Manor was the bomb.
You could take that baby apart so many different ways and the leftover bits allowed me to make blood bowl field goals. 10/10

It is impossible to rate any one kit as GW's products cover such a large range of material: I'm going to place 2 choices for each of the categories... the first item being best balance between battlefield use/flexibility/price, and second being price is no object.
Warhammer 40k:
Value/Flexibility: 3rd Edition Gothic Ruins OOP
(NOTE: Ryza Pattern Ruins are similar, but they can't beat the price point/look/flexibility of the old Gothic Ruins)
Cities of Death Modular Kits
(Honorable Mention to Sector Mechanicus. It only loses because of lowered flexibility due to the kits having no walls.
Warhammer Fantasy:
Value/Flexibility: Chapel OOP
(Honorable Mention to Temple of Skulls OOP, Dreadstone Blight OOP)
Fortified Manor House OOP
(Honorable Mention to Skullvane Manse OOP)
LOTR:
Value/Flexibility: Ruins of Osgiliath
Lake Town Multi-Kit

Ruins of Osgiliath from LOTR is a sleeper hit, very good kit. I also like the Honored Imperium one.

These are my choice as well. Terrain kits should work like Taco Bell, a small number of compatible components that can be arranged in a huge variety of ways.

As an Eldar player I'd recommend many of the third party terrain producers before GW.

Urgh. MDF and 3D printed nonsense that looks like its done more lines than Charlie Sheen? . Looks like youd have to go over every inch of that with sandpaper. The design is pretty decent but still
Im going to have to say the sector mechanicus line as well, its great, there are only a few things id do to improve it, but thats just being picky. Its crazily modular

Some of it is better than others. I think laser cut alone is pretty poor for eldar stuff as you'll end up with 90 degree corners wherever the laser cut through the material. You can sand and bevel the corners to make them more organic, but that's a lot of work.

The old hardfoam prepainted and flocked kits back in the early 2000's, that sold for 25 bucks here in the US. All these pics are how they came in the package!
I have two of the ruined towers:
I know there was also a Dwarf Hold, Cemetary, and Orc/Goblin camp.
