Hello,

So I picked up some models to start playing 40k. Got a great deal for them at the local gaming store. Any input will be appreciated.

So I figured deep striking terminators would be fun. What is the best way to use this list? What do you think I should get in the future? I was thinking about a squad or 2 of sniper scout to take out enemy characters early in the game. I am still learning the rules and nuances of the game, like I said, noon.

That's a very elite heavy start, but a good one. I would suggest scouts, lots of them, to help fill out your body count and give you area of denial. Depending on your chapter that you play you could also do tactical marines, multiple 5 man with a heavy weapon squads are a good option for salamander players for example. But the general consensus is that scouts are typically a smarter option.

Follow that up with how do you want to play the army? Do you want to be a long range firepower army? Mid range? Close combat? This will help dictate the next move.

If you're into the scout route, and like making different models, get a couple Land Speeder Storms. Take the scouts that are usually modeled inside the transport and use some bits and bobs to model them sitting down, running, reloading, etc. If I had a camera, I could take pictures of mine. Although, since you're new, I wouldn't expect you to be that involved yet.

Still, scouts are a good unit if you like playing Space Marines. The sniper/missile launcher pack is solid, and comes with boltguns as well in case you like that idea better. The usual follow ups would be Devastator squads for all the heavy weapon sprues, a rhino or two for the inevitable Tac squads, and maybe one of the fast attack options. This edition, you should consider some Scout Bikes for that slot.

That's just my two cents, though. You seem like you lean towards the two-wound models, so Primaris could be good. I don't know enough about them to suggest anything yet.

With such elite models you'll want something to help against smite from enemy psychers. Either a librarian, or black templar chapter tactics for the strategem. Or you could ally in one of those assasins or sisters of silience.
