Does anybody know where I could find unit data sheets for reference?
I've been wanting something that can fit in a trading card sleeve that just has its stats, special rules and everything else removed

I think you'd have to take pictures of the little datasheets you get when you buy the box, then crop, resize and print out. Or sit there with a codex, type out the info you want and print that.

Then comes along the frakking Spinosaurus who kills the T-rex, and the movie says "LOVE THIS NOW! HE IS BETTER" But...in your heart, you love the T-rex, who shouldn't have lost to no stupid Spinosaurus. So you hate the movie. And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.

I have the entire Craftworlds codex compiled into two double-sided sheets which I laminate. I update them with the points costs etc...and it's all I need. It's doable you just have to be willing to sit and type for a bit.
Makes it very easy to update points costs and keep them current, etc.

If you have a Black Library copy you can also use the Windows snipping tool to get just the bits you want in a resizeable format. Not sure you'd end up with something you could get onto a playing card given the amount of text on some units, but it could work.
I saw someone who had a checklist to make sure he remembered to fire all the different guns on his Repulsors every turn, it might be fun to have something like that in a clear sleeve you can mark with a dry-erase pen like it was a Warmachine model.

What program did you use Microsoft excel?
I have my codexes but sometimes I think it would be easier to just have a card for that one niche unit

Just Word, though Excel would be fine, perhaps a little faster.

If you want to make your own, I use a program called Magic Set Editor that’s pretty easy to use. Need to get around to making cards for 8th myself...
