Legends is at 643 Chrislea Road, Unit 1 (at the back of the building (faces Highway 400). You have to take Weston Road North until Langstaff and then head east on Langstaff until the first set of lights, where you will take a right and then a left at the first stop sign. Otherwise, take the highway 400 North to Langstaff (exit at Langstaff) and then take a left on Langstaff, then take your first left and again a left at the stop sign. It's easy to find. You cannot see the storefront from Chrislea Road, but they should have a small A-sign out front of the building.

Sorry Guis, my babysitter cancelled last, last minute and I had to scramble to get the kid packed up so I could take the wife to work and now I'm with him all day.

C'est la vie. Lightning wasn't there either. Wasn't a total loss, at least I needed some new paints. Hopefully we'll be successful next time.

Great games today! Got my first win in a 2 x 2 game... Nids and dark versus blood angels and space wolves...it was sweet! Then I got a tie and a loss against space wolves. My feet are solo sore!

In two weeks the wife and the monster will be visiting some of her friends in ottawa, so 100 percent I will be free to play.

Is this group still welcoming new people? I'd love to get 40k games in more regularly. I have several armies I can field at the 1000 pt level, and two that could get up to 1850 - 2000. I can do weekend afternoons, but not weeknights.

I have no car, so I'm restricted to venues on the TTC. It seems like people are playing at Heavy Support (on the TTC) and at Legends (car-only?),as well as the Yonge/Lawrence GW (on the TTC)? Sad to read about the bad experience at Dueling Grounds, as that is the most accessible store for me. I remember when it smelled bad (shortly after they had moved to the current location, I believe), but it's fine now - I play Warmachine there occasionally.

Had a look at the facebook group "Warhammer 40k Toronto" but the last post was almost a year ago, so I figure posting here is a better idea

Welcome! Thie group is very friendly and everyone is always looking for someone new to game with. Legends is not easy to get to unless you have a car, the GW on yonge is pretty goodm there is also Friendly Troll that is just south of Finch station. I'm always up for a game at FT

Excellent! If anyone is up for a game (1000 - 2000pts) this Saturday (March 10) or Sunday (Mar 11), please let me know. I can make it to Dueling Grounds, Heavy Support or Friendly Troll by noon. DG has Warhammer on its schedule for Saturday and is the easiest venue for me, but I can make it out to the others if I get up a little earlier

Perfect - three games! I'll be there. With 2 hours for 1500 pts, that should be relatively relaxing; I just played at Game Summit in Ottawa, where we had only 1:45 for 1850, which was pretty tight

A few questions re Saturday:

1. Do I need to call HSG or the tournament organizer (?) and sign up in advance, or is this a drop-in thing? It looks like it happens every month, so I'm assuming drop-in is ok.

2. I couldn't find any "tournament rules" anywhere (HSG forums are down, and the link for "event rules" just brings me back to the main page). The event says that fully painted is not required, but other than that has no details. Is this just "standard 40k", standard missions etc.? Are (non-superheavy) IA / FW models and rules allowed?'

Thanks for any info you can give me. I can always just show up with a standard 40k tournament list this month, and chat with the TO for next time. I mostly want to get games in; I'm not too concerned about bringing a diamond-hard list.

Don't know if you would call it a win? Hmmm? What would you call it then? Game starts, game ends, my team has more kills points than your team in an Annihilation game... sounds like a win to me... he he... rematch? Of course... always up for rematches!

Where is HS?

If no one is playing at legends with me on Thursday, I may set up a game with you at HS. I will confirm before Wednesday.

I've done a bit of work on him, maybe 50% done. He'll show up in 1 form or another, gonna bring a couple different lists to see the bes tway to use him.

Standard codex only so no IA/FW. He uses random scenarios from the rule book. Prize money is split amongst 1st/2nd/3rd/best sportsman(seperate vote). It's a pretty low key tournament and non competitive, there were only 6 people last time I was there, although it seems like I'm always out of town the weekend of the tournament (this month included).

I'm going to try and show up with my nids, not competitive in anyway but a ton of fun to play

I might hit up the GW and YnL on thursday to spend the extra 20% to get the razorback and Drop pod I need (buying a Dread of FW) to get my SW 2k list completed... need to find a nice supply of rocket Launchers and Melta guns too but eh, those will come in time.
